Please carefully read through the details of this description. I am going to give you as much detail as I can so you know exactly what you are getting. This is a project Bus and I want no buyers remorse! 1970 VW Camper Bus. It is a HI-TOP model with a hardtop fiberglass top, not a pop-up canvas style like a westie. These are apparently pretty rare conversions, I have only seen a few others like it online. I do not have a title. BODY/EXTERIOR/RUST: The body is very straight. Only a few minor dents, like shopping cart dents. No accidents, no body damage. All doors open and close great. The slider is smooth and easy, however it got locked and won't let up. I haven't messed with it, probably a fairly easy fix. All glass is good, no cracks. The nose has rust under the window and at the corners of the nose, behind the bumper. This is the area that needs the most help, it will most likely need repair panels welded in. Other than that there is some minor rust in both rocker panels and there are some holes in the passenger side floor board. That's all of the rust needing anything more than a surface sanding and primer. So it has some rust issues to fix but certainly not a rust bucket! TOP: The top is in good shape, seems to have had some minor damage repaired up front. The repair is good and sound. There is a plexiglass "skylight" on the top, it leaks and needs repair. There were two windows on the sides of the top that have been removed. They need to be replaced or filled in with fiberglass. The rear of the top has a luggage rack recessed into it, its pretty handy for your gear. INTERIOR: The entire interior, other than the front seats, is out and sitting in my garage. It is included but not pictured. The front seats are excellent. The rear interior is all needing to be reconditioned. I started making new interior panels, they are included in case you wanna use them. The old panels were worthless. The rear interior includes a full size fold out bed that folds into a bench seat, a main cabinet, and a fold up table. There is a small seat/storage that goes behing the driver side. The stove is missing from the original gear. I have a headliner in a box that is included, the one in the bus is all ripped out. The floor is bare metal. You will need to cut new plywood and install a flooring of your choice. Dashboard has one minor crack, and the steering wheel needs some re-conditioning. ENGINE/MECHANICALS: This bus had alot of work done by previous owners. Lots of suspension parts replaced and the clutch was recently re-done. The motor was replaced about 12,000 miles ago with a rebuilt motor. However, it needs some work. The bolts that fasten the heads to the block have stripped out and become loose. The motor leaks oil because of this. It needs a set of case savers installed to correct the problem. Additionally the timing is off on the motor due to the distributor getting twisted around on it. This bus has sat for over a year but I drove it last spring, it will run and run good. It drives perfectly and handles well. Shifts great, clutch is strong. Brakes are good. Tires have all held air while it sat and have decent tread left on them. Has an unused full size spare tire. The battery is dead. AGAIN, THIS BUS IS A PROJECT AND HAS NO TITLE. This vehicle will need to be hauled/trailered, it is not currently running! The bus is sitting at my father's house and It is unlikely that I will have time to take more pictures of the bus so feel free to ask any questions you have and I will answer them honestly.
