Vehicle Detail

1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible 49,300 Original Miles A True Survivor HISTORY: You are looking at one of the nicest unrestored, real GTO convertibles anywhere. The car was purchased new at Roth Motors in Toledo, Ohio by Ann Brauer on June 16th, 1965. Ann was then 55 years old. Ms. Brauer garaged the car and kept it for 16 years, driving it just under 42,000 miles. She sold it in 1981 to a married couple in Davie, FL., who garaged and babied it for the next 29 years, adding only 7,000 additional miles. The car’s incredible condition bears testament to its two fanatic adult owners. Check out the interior. Only the carpet and armrests have been replaced. There are no rips, tears or cracks in the padded dash, door panels or the all-vinyl bucket seats. The interior shows as new! The factory convertible top boot comes with the car. It’s in beautiful condition, but is missing a few clips (which are available at Year One). The convertible top was replaced on September 30th, 1983 and is in nearly new condition. The Crown Royal Convertible Top Guarantee (48 months) is included in the documentation. The engine and trunk compartments have been fully detailed. PHS DOCUMENTATION: This 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible comes with complete PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) documentation, which confirms its factory authenticity and all factory ordered options and accessories. This is a numbers matching car with original 389 cubic inch V8 and factory Hurst 4-Speed transmission. The factory window sticker provided through the Pontiac Historical Society shows this GTO to be heavily optioned, with emphasis on ride, speed and handling. Additional Optional Equipment Includes: Dealer Installed Red Plastic Inner Wheel Well Linings (Extremely Rare), Bucket Seats & Console, Handling and Ride Package, Quick Steering Package, Rally Gauge Cluster and Tachometer, Saf-T-Track Differential, Heavy Duty Radiator, 7 Blade Fan and Fan Clutch, Chrome Air Cleaner and Rocker Arm Covers, Exhaust Extensions, Custom Sports Steering Wheel, Padded Instrument Panel, Delco Pushbutton Factory Radio, Two Speed Electric Windshield Wipers, Power Convertible Top, Underhood Lamp, Back up Lamps, Retractable Luggage Compartment Lamp, Glove Box Lamp, Ash Tray and Cigar Lighter Lamp, Parking Brake Lamp, Inside Non-Glare Mirror, Outside Rear View Mirror, Door Edge Guards, Custom Wheel Discs with Spinners and White Wall Tires. This time capsule GTO Convertible comes with additional documentation that includes the original owner’s manual, a booklet on operation and care of the power operated folding top, warranty booklet and Protecto-O-Plate. You only have to look at this car to see the kind of care it has received by two owners over more than four and a half decades. HONEST DESCRIPTION: As you look at the nearly 60 photos of this car, remember that it has NOT been restored. Therefore, it is far from perfect. From 20 feet away, it looks like a show car. Even from 10 feet, the car could be a show winner. Because it was rust proofed by the selling dealer, rust is not and has never been an issue. The car was painted once, in 1981, following its purchase by the second owner. After nearly thirty years, inspection reveals a patina of age, with surface paint imperfections likely coming up from the underlying original GM lacquer, and tiny chips around the car that have been touched up over the years. There is also a ding (left front fender) and a 3-inch touched-up scratch (left front fender). In fluorescent light, small indentations can also be seen on the top of the left front fender and hood (perhaps from tools). These imperfections are impossible to reveal in photos, and nearly impossible to see in bright sunlight, but you can see them on close personal inspection. In order to be a true show car, this GTO would have to be treated to a professional refinishing. Original glass is excellent all around and the original chrome (bumpers, etc.) are also in excellent shape. The White Wall Steel Belted Radial Tires look nearly new with no cracking. My tire shop told me the date stamps on the inside walls of the tires indicate they were manufactured in 2001. PERFORMANCE AND SUMMARY: Mechanically, this GTO rides and performs as new. The big 389 4 barrel V8 starts up the first time, every time, and runs perfectly, with that throaty GTO growl. At 49,300 miles, you expect a car with a tight front end and a no rattle ride. That’s what you get with this car. It’s an original that has never been taken apart. A perfect GTO show car that has been frame-off restored would cost you about 70-75 thousand dollars at Barrett Jackson or even here on eBay. If you want a gorgeous original driver that people will THINK you spent those big bucks on, buy this one at roughly half the price! THIS CAR BELONGS TO ME AND IS TITLED IN MY NAME. I’M NOT A DEALER. I’VE SOLD DOZENS OF CARS ON EBAY FROM MY COLLECTION OVER THE LAST 11 YEARS. NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. CHECK MY 100% FEEDBACK RECORD.
