Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1974 GT750 Suzuki two stroke triple, in good running condition; an unrestored survivor. Everything works on this machine, and considering its age, it is in excellent condition; registration is current, and the bike has been on several road runs this year. Mileage on the odometer is original. First, the defects; I will try to be as honest as I can, so a buyer will have no surprises. The bike starts easily and runs well, but needs some minor work to correct for 35 years of wear. Carbs need new float needles, as the old ones are beginning to let fuel pass, and the floats themselves should be adjusted, as the bike runs fairly rich. Front fork seals will need replacement very soon. The worst place on the bike, cosmetically, is the right front turn signal stalk (pictured). There is some light pitting of the chrome, and minor scratches on the muffler chrome, but no dents. The base of the cylinder jug seeps from the left side of the engine where it meets the crankcase when cold; once the engine warms up, it stops; it's more of an annoyance than anything else. Because of the wear on the float valves, the tank has to be drained when allowed to sit for more than a couple of hours; the fuel will weep out thru the intake port on the front (intake) side of the CV carbs. Everything on this machine is original unless otherwise noted, except for battery, tires, paint, and seat cover. Brake pads and shoes have been replaced, along with brake fluid, about 3,000 miles back. PAINT IS NOT ORIGINAL, is in excellent condition, and done in 1975 paint scheme for the bike.. Coolant was replaced year before last, and should still be good for another year at least, to -20 F. The tires are in excellent condition and should last another 5000+ miles, depending, of course, on your riding style. I continually receive compliments on this bike wherever I ride; it doesn't look like a 36 year old bike; and nothing else sounds quite like it. The bike is very reliable, quiet, smooth and comfortable; it's the third one of these I've owned. Seat cover is a new replacement from B&H Specialties, and exceeds the quality of the original, and should last longer as well. The color of the bike is transparent black, with rainbow microflake in the paint. From ten feet away it just looks like a deep glossy black, when the sun hits it, from up close you see a rainbow halo effect. For added visibility at night, LED lighting has been added beneath the tank, and the original sealed beam was replaced with a halogen unit for safety. The drive sprockets have been changed to achieve a taller gear ratio for highway riding. A cruise control has also been added. A cover for the bike is included, along with a maintenance charger which plugs right into the bike, and a small sport fairing (not shown). Title is in hand, with no liens or encumbrances. These bikes are disappearing quickly into the hands of collectors and antique dealers; the last one was built in 1977, 27 years ago. This one can be ridden or restored; I no longer have the time to ride or maintain it as it should be any more. Serious bidders, only, please...a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $250.00 dollars by Paypal will be required at the close of the auction, with the remainder to be tendered on delivery, by either cash or cashier's check; if purchased by cashier's check, the check must either clear my bank, or be verified by my bank prior to my releasing bike or title. I have no means to ship the bike; but I am willing to deliver within fifty miles; bidders are welcome to contact me to make arrangements to see the bike in Nashville, but if you want a test ride, have a $200 deposit to cover damages (refunded after the ride, of course) and be prepared to verify your identity---I'm a cop, and I've seen too many people get bikes stolen on test rides. PLEASE NOTE: SEVERAL PEOPLE, WITH THE BEST OF INTENTIONS, HAVE STATED THIS IS A 1975 MODEL YEAR FRAME AND MOTORCYCLE...THE VIN SERIES FOR 1975 DID NOT START UNTIL SERIAL #GT750-52823 (SEE LINK) http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/identification/FRAMELIST_1200-pix-wide.jpg
