Strong engine and transmission. I drove it from Seattle, Washington to Omaha, Nebraska in two days this summer and never missed a beat going over mountain passes and across the high plains at 80 miles/hr. All of the following features work: Air Conditioner, Heater, Sun Roof, Power Windows, Odometer. The tach and clock are unpredicatble but the other Instrument Cluster gauges work. I replaced the glow plug relay before I drove it home from Seattle. I cleaned and lubricated the Sun Roof plus replaced the front and rear rubber seals and the two side felt rails. The Sun Roof works perfectly, no intervention required to open or close. I cleaned the fuse box and replaced the fuses. The radio/cassette worked before I messed with the wires so it should work again with effort. The power antenna is one of the few items that I was not able to get working. I have parts from a second unit that maybe the two can be combined into one functioning unit. The radio installation wiring by a previous owner looks a mess but all of the window and flasher switches work correctly. The car is 31 years old and has road chips to the paint job. Some rust in the obvious places. The right rear door has taken a hit somewhere in its' past. This car is not a garage queen but is a road warrior. The seats are worn and have some tears and patches. A previous owner appears to have "sealed" the sun roof but I opted to fix it instead and it was worth the effort. This is an excellent candidate for vegetable oil conversion. The trunk is large and can easily hold an additional tank. This vehicle is selling as is, where is, without warranty.On Oct-23-10 at 04:44:33 PDT, seller added the following information:I am the fourth owner, here is what the second owner wrote to the third owner: "I'm the second owner. The first owner lived in Las Vegas. He had an engine failure at 50,000 miles. He purchased a used engine and had that engine fail after 10,000 miles. He paid 3 or 4 thousand dollars to have that engine overhauled at the Mercedes dealer in Vegas. He then drove to Salt lake to visit family and the crankshaft broke on the way. The engine was so new the oil was still honey colored. He had had enough and traded the car for a Saab. I bought the car and he sent me the crankshaft from the original engine. I install the the crank and new bearings and had a new engine. I drove the car from 66,000 miles to 200,000+ miles. I took very good care of it. I replaced the transmission before I sold it to you. It cost me 3,000 dollars. I replaced all bushings and steering parts. I kept it in excellent condition the whole time I had it. Fixing everything that the car needed. Performing all maintance and keeping the inside and outside surfaces in nice shape."On Oct-24-10 at 13:19:03 PDT, seller added the following information: October 24, 2010 at 13:17 PDT, seller is adding the following information: ***NOTE*** Today the driver window regulator broke. The pot metal piece snapped. I have a used window regulator for the back left passenger side. Doubtful they interchange but it might be possible to salvage the needed components. If the winning bidder wants out be sure and let me know. I will cancel the sale if you were counting on all windows to work as advertised. I know that I am bummed, I had them working!
