1978 GL1000 Goldwing, 59,294 miles. Very original and well-maintained. Maintenance items are completely up-to-date: recent Yuasa AGM Maintenance-Free battery, a Randaak’s comprehensive fuel system/carburetion kit (http://www.randakks.com/), timing belts (probably THE most important consideration for any new GL1000 owner), valve adjustments, front and rear brake pads, NGK spark plug caps, air filter, fluids (Amsoil products), and a replacement clutch assembly (this bike’s first). Upgrades include a Dyna S electronic ignition, Corbin Gunfighter seat, aftermarket fork brace for improved front end rigidity, reduced-force throttle return spring, and Denso Iridium spark plugs. Maintenance and updates are by Barely Legal Bikes in Athens, AL (256-232-2160). Problems? Not many: The neutral indicator light stays on when the bike is in gear (at about half brightness compared to the actual neutral position). The neutral sending unit needs to be replaced (this is not a transmission problem, just an electrical glitch). Also, I’m not sure that the water pump has ever been replaced, but it doesn’t seep any coolant, and it’s a minor repair in any case. Thanks for looking!!
