1959 Ford F-100 Big Window, 5.0 Crate Motor, Disc Brakes History: Bought new in California, where it remained until a North Carolina born marine bought it in 2003. One family owned since new until his purchase while stationed there. Brought home to N.C. and started restoration, reassigned to foriegn duty so truck was purchased from him in spring of 2009. Since then truck has came a long way. Engine: Jasper 5.0 crate motor. Long block EdelBrock performer R.P.M intake. New Ford replacement carb. Mild Cam, good idle. Long tube headers. Chrome dress up kit. New Alt, water pump, wires, and fuel pump. Trans: Rebuilt Ford 3 speed. New Hurst floor shifter. New Hays hydraulic clutch, pressure plate, and throw out barring. Brakes: New front disc conversion kit. Rear heavy duty drums. Dual master cyl for safety. Wheels: 15x8 Aluminum Bullet Hole Style. Tires: New 255-70-15 Radials. Body: Very solid and straight. Only rust i have found on truck is bottom of cab corners and it is minor. Primed and then shot with Hot Rod Black. Glass: Windshield is cracked as is drivers door glass. Big rear window in good condition. Local glass shop gave estimate of forty dollars to cut drivers glass and one hundred sixty for replacement windshield. Interior: Seat recovered in black Vinyl after new padding installed. Rubber mat, original wheel and after market gauges, seat belts and visors added. Original radio still plays. Summary: Truck starts, stops, runs and drives very well. Doesn't wander around on road and brakes stop quick and straight. All lights work as they should. All mechanicals have been gone through so the hard part is done. Glass and paint is the only thing needed to make her close to new again or enjoy her as she is as we have done.
