Vehicle Detail

I bought this Camero for my high school son to drive in his senior year (to keep him out of our cars). He has now graduated and moved off to a school that doesn't allow cars on campus. We don't need the extra car, so here it is. I do NOT want the buyer to be unhappy so please read carefully and ask as many questions as you need before bidding. This car is FAR from perfect and I hesitated to sell it this way but I wasn't sure how to price it locally and didn't want to deal with the whole negotiation process. I bought the car in March of 2009 from a used car lot. It had 64k miles on it at that time. It has not been cleaned up (washed, vacuumed, etc.) in anyway - sorry for the dirt. Problems with the car: Exhaust - It is really loud - and not in a good way. Apparently he knocked a hole in the muffler, or the tail pipe, or knocked one of the joints loose. It is not as loud as no muffler, but it would drive me crazy if I had to drive it every day. Diver Side Window - see the picture - the window is off its track or something but it will NOT close - it has a big gap - and if you pull it up to where it is supposed to be, it just falls back to where you see it. The passenger side window is fine and both window motors go up and down. Exterior/Paint/Clear Coat - see the pictures - the clear coat is peeling off in the front and the back. It seems he must have also bent the point of the hood as well - see where the rust is - not sure when/how that happened but its not particularly noticeable. Engine - you may notice that the "Service Engine" light is on. This has been a constant battle since we bought it. I've had it in several times and its always some sensor or something, costs me $100+ and then happens again in several months. Given the cost and use of the car, we gave up and just let it stay on. Interior - The door to the compartment between the driver and passenger seat has been torn off and is missing. I'm sure there is a story there - not sure if I want to know about it. Also, the panel that has the nobs for windows and locks in the driver door has been glued back in and whoever did it was not a professional. A/C - Used to work fine, but now does not blow cold air. Other information: I drove the car to work (100 mile round trip) the other day so that I could talk about it. It ran strong, shifted fine, drove well. I think you'd be fine to drive it home from anywhere. The tires are okay for now - nothing to crow about. It gets in the mid to high 20s for MPG (or at least did when we purchased it and I measured a tank). I think the car would make a good daily driver for someone who knows their way around a car - or maybe a first car for another teenager. The car is sold AS IS and WHERE IS. It is the buyers responsibility to come pick it up or arrange for shipping. A $200 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close by PayPal. Full payment is due within 3 days and MUST be made by cashier's check or cash. No trades, no offers to buy outside of eBay, no personal checks, no excuses. Please don't bid if you can't abide by these terms. On Oct-04-10 at 13:51:20 PDT, seller added the following information:Note: Looking at the bidding to date, and re-reading my description, I may have been too negative sounding on the Camero. If I didn't already have a new Mini Cooper that gets 39MPG, I would fix the window and exhaust and drive it for my 100 mile per day commute until the wheels fell off. I thought my son would take it to college, which is why I bought a commuter car for me. It needs some work but it is not a wreck. Happy bidding - thanks!
