Selling a 1986 Lincoln Town Car. This car belonged to my Grandfather who died earlier this year. I was left the car, but unfortunately have no need for it. The car is in fantastic shape – it’s originally a California car, garage kept, and in the last few years of his life barely driven (and kept inside a garage). Not a spot of rust. It’s only been in Washington State for about 5 years. 74,372 original miles. My grandfather was the original and only owner. Everything works in this car. Everything! Power door locks, power seats, all lights, mirrors, power antenna, gauge cluster is perfect. Climate control/AC blows cold (will probably need a recharge at some point), the computer still works. All the interior and exterior lights are perfect. External mirrors work perfectly. The interior is fantastic. The leather seats are still soft, pliable, with only minor wrinkles and no stains, tears, or other wear. The carpets are very nice, there are some minor stains but nothing noticeable. The rear seat is barely used. My grandparents were NOT smokers – I swear the car smells like a new car. Engine is a 302 Fuel Injected V8. When I got the car (a few months ago) I did a complete service – oil change, transmission oil/filter, new plugs, cap, and rotor, and air filter. The car starts and runs great and the engine compartment is very clean. In fact, I think any wear on the car is mostly due to NON-use. I recently took the car to Spokane for a trip just to put some miles on it – it performed flawlessly and averaged 22+ mpg. The car rides nice, it’s super quiet inside and very, very comfortable. There is very little bad to say – there are the typical minor paint dings from age, there is a rock chip in the windshield that was filled/repaired (no worries if getting larger) but the car is basically perfect. It could probably use new tires, and will likely need an A/C recharge since I have no idea the age on those parts. This would be a very nice car if it was only 5 years old, let alone being 24 years old! The paint is still fantastic, not faded or cracked. The vinyl top is flawless no rips or tears. The original radio in the car had a problem with a scratchy rear speakers. The speakers tested fine and something was wrong with the head unit, so I installed a Dual HD radio with Bluetooth and MP3/Ipod connectivity. The radio is a factory-style install – which means no wires or any part of the dash were hacked, cut or spliced. The radio uses the factory 6 speaker amp, factory speakers, and if you found an original head unit would plug right back in. I will include the original radio with the purchase of the car. I have the original owners manual, and will also include a car cover with the purchase This car is pretty close to a new car. You could buy it and drive it every day or take it on a long trip with no worries. It’s very comfortable, drives nice. It’s a lot of car for not a lot of money and I see no reason why it wouldn’t have another 75K miles in it with routine maintenance. $500 deposit within 24 hrs of auction end. Also - I've had inquiries into the condition of the interior - there are no cracks, splits or drying on any of the interior panels. Dash is perfect, armrests, upper door panels have perfect color, no fading, no cracks. Headliner is Pristine. No stains, tears, rips or sagging of the headliner!
