i bought this old 45 as a project because the body is so decent compared to most i've looked at. the po had taken the truck completely apart & started cleaning it up. i bought it in pieces with no drive line. first i bought a 78 fj 40 that had 68,000 miles but was nearly rusted in two. i installed the 68,000 mile 2f ,the 4 spd.,transfer case, & the front disc brake axle. i left the original rear axle in it because i have a full floater from a bj 40 that i intended to install. the full floater is listed in another auction. i bolted the body back on & had the seat recovered. the body on the truck is really decent, only needing the rocker panels, cab corners, & the tailgate replaced. the removable top, floor boards, & complete front sheetmetal are flawless. the doors are straight & have surface rust only. the bed floor has no rust but it does have dents. the bed sides are in the same condition as the floor, dings but solid. the gate does have rust & could be replaced cheaper than being repaired. the frame also needs a little repair. it's nice & straight but has some scaly areas. the driveline is in but needs to be wired & plumbed. most, if not all the parts are in the bed. i'd really like to keep it because they're so hard to find but my work has slowed to a snail's pace & i don't know how long it would be before i could finish it & it's already been in dry storage for the last 2 yrs. at my job.
