Vehicle Detail

There’s no doubt that 1966 is one of the most popular Ford Mustang model years in the history of the car. In fact, March 1966 marked the creation of the millionth Mustang. Although the first few years were definitely good for Ford and its sporty Mustang, 1966 was the year all that hard work truly began to pay off. By 1966, most people began to associate the Ford Mustang with power and performance. It was the car to have if you needed a daily driver and it was the car to have if you needed a weekend cruiser with a sporty edge. This vehicle features the original Engine Code T: 200 cubic inch I-6 engine @ 120hp w/9.2:1 compression and a one-barrel carburetor. The car was built in the Metuchen, NJ factory. **PLEASE NOTE: THIS CAR IS NOT CURRENTLY DRIVABLE AND IS OFFERED IN AS-IS CONDITION** The vehicle has been garaged and not driven for the last 27 years. It was placed in storage in 1983 and literally not touched since. We are likely the second owner. 126,789 original miles. The body has been repainted from its original color and is in pretty good condition. There is some minor rusting around the driver's side rear wheel well. There is a small dent to the sheet metal underneath the front bumper. The frame rail and spring coils are solid. The interior is all original and in very good condition. The front passenger seat has a small seam opening. Carpeting is literally like new. Instrumentation and chrome pieces are excellent, but tarnished. The engine has been started, bypassing the fuel system. It runs amazingly quiet. To get the car driving, it will need at least the following repairs typical of a car in storage this long: - repair transmission leak- new brakes- gas tank needs to be dropped and cleaned (or replaced)- fuel lines need to be flushed and cleaned- gaskets need to be replaced Regarding options, it does not appear to have many. To head off questions, there is no a/c, no power steering, no power brakes, no power windows, no FM radio (AM only). It does have an automatic transmission. If you're looking for a solid candidate for restoration, you've found it! All of the essentials are in great shape and its an easy car to work on. In its day, it ran wonderfully and is a very solid and sporty classic American car. Successful bidder will need to pick the car up in person in Perth Amboy, NJ or arrange to have it shipped. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs. Winning bidder is to make $500 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction closing, balance of payment may be made by certified or bank check. Good luck and happy bidding!!
