Vehicle Detail
First and foremost, I love this car. She is classy and comfortable, environmental and economical, fun and sophisticated. She starts easily, even in the winter, runs smoothly, as long as you don't expect to drag race, cruises nicely on the highway or through town, and still turn heads. I am only selling this car because I am moving to New York City and unfortunately she is among the things I have to get rid of before the big move (check my other auctions for a bunch of other randoms stuff). I have had her for two years, bought her myself off of eBay here, and have enjoyed the entire ownership. She really is a great car. There's tons of room inside and in the trunk. She gets better gas mileage than my new SUV did. My guy friends are jealous that I saved money doing the whole WVO oil thing, my girl friends have thought me a great guy for saving the environment, and my girlfriends still got driven around in a classy Mercedes. It was a win-win-win! Recently, I have only been running diesel and biodiesel, not WVO, because I moved out of a home in the suburbs into City apartment living (my first step to NYC, I guess). I bought her in great shape and I've kept her that way. She is an older car, so remember to always check your fluids, and things to break down occasionally in older cars, but luckily for you, I've done all the work already. I had originally intended to keep this long term, and had been upgrading and fixing the big and little things as they came. There's all new brakes (and braking system), rebuilt motor and transmission (both with less than 100k miles on them), changed the interior light bulbs, and a bunch of little things. On top of what I paid, I've put in another $3000, at least. I loved this car. This sedan is very clean inside and out and as gas prices rise they will become harder to find in this condition. The odometer reads 269k, but the engine was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and with the power and smoothness of the engine you can tell. You will have many years of motoring in this classic. This is considered one of Mercedes Benz’s crowning achievements and one of the world’s best sedans. These diesel sedans from Mercedes are known to run for well over half a million miles and with their cast iron heads and indirect injection they are the perfect candidate for single tank veg oil conversions. This car will run on Straight Vegetable Oil, Waste Vegetable Oil, Biodiesel, Diesel, or a combination of any of these fuels. The single tank conversions are the easiest and most efficient way to run vegetable oil in your vehicle. If you are environmentally conscious, this is the vehicle for you. This car has a neutral carbon footprint. If you are trying to save money on fuel, this is the vehicle for you. This vehicle will pay for itself in a few years in fuel savings alone if you use free WVO. If you are tired of our dependence on foreign oil imports, this vehicle is for you. This car can be run on pure vegetable oil that is domestically grown and produced. I have been running my 300D on WVO for years and haven’t spent a dime on fuel. There’s nothing like driving past the gas station as prices for fuel skyrocket and not having to worry about my budget because I’m saving $500.00 a month in fuel cost. Following this is the original listing, which does a better job of explaining everything than I could, but there are a couple things differing. First, the driver's side vanity mirror is missing. I had intended to install a slim GPS model there for easy use, but since I'm moving, I haven't done that. Its all ready to go for you though. Second, there are two small pebble marks on the windshield; again, I was going to replace her but I'm moving; Finally, one gauge isn't working; the oil pressure gauge, and honestly, as I check oil regularly, it wasn't high on my fix list -- I had put the GPS and on-board touchscreen computer higher in priority, but I'm a big dork who likes to be connected so =) Description: Champagne exterior, MB paint code 473 with Tan MB-Tex interior. 5-Cylinder, 3.0 liter, single overhead cam, Turbodiesel, 4-speed automatic transmission, power assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, automatic sunroof, A/C and heat climate control, power windows, central locking, power steering, cruise control, Sock Becker AM/FM Cassette Player, electrically heated rear windshield, quartz chronometer, chrome wheels, front center folding arm rest, zebrano wood dash trim and console, combed wool carpet, 2-speed windshield wiper with 5-second mist interval control, parcel nets. Exterior Condition: The car has recently been repainted and it is in excellent condition. The exterior rubber and chrome are all in excellent condition. All the glass is in great shape with the exception of two small pebble marks on the windshield, and the emblems are shiny and in excellent condition. The front grill is in nice shape. All trim is in place and in excellent condition. The overall impression of the exterior is excellent as you can see from the photos. Interior Condition: The Mb Tex is in overall great shape and the seats are firm and comfortable. The driver’s seat has a couple of small tears, but they don’t detract from the comfort or appearance and are barely noticeable. The dash is in good shape with 2 small cracks near the temp sensor. The headliner is in good shape and the carpet is in good condition. The door panels are in great shape as you can see in the photos. The instrument panel and center console are in very good condition. Overall the interior impression on this car is very nice and it is quite comfortable and well appointed. Mechanical Condition: Mechanically this car is very sound. The transmission shifts smooth in all gears. The engine in this car performs nicely with good power and torque. It is a Turbo diesel model and it accelerates well through all gears. There are no leaks in the exhaust and it is smooth running at all speeds. The alignment is true with no pulling during braking with no excess play in the steering wheel. The brakes are strong. This car has many years of trouble free motoring to come. I would feel confident in this vehicle on a long road trip in its excellent condition. Vegetable Oil Conversion: This conversion was done professionally by True Earth Motors in Carlsbad California and all components are under warranty for one full year on all parts and labor. The conversion is based on a 2 micron filter/water separator that has a top loaded 150 watt heating element that automatically turns on when temperatures fall below 60F and turns off when the oil reaches 85F. This insures that the veg oil will flow through your filter no matter how cold it gets outside. The fuel lines have been replaced with Urebrade lines designed for vegetable oil. The final heat stage comes from injector line heaters that get the fuel nice and hot quickly. These heaters will get the fuel to 170F within 3 minutes and if you turn them on before you start the car you will be insuring that hot oil is reaching the injectors right away. This will insure easy starts, even on cold mornings and also insure proper and complete burning of the oil which is critical for the health of your engine. This is considered a temperate climate single tank conversion designed for Southern California. It can be modified to work in any climactic conditions, so please ask any questions you have before bidding. I will also set up a home WVO filtration system for you if you are local. Accessories Condition: All electronics are functioning in the vehicle. All power windows are working, although the passenger window clicks a bit as it goes up and down. The sunroof functions properly and is smooth and strong. The stock stereo is working. The climate control is working properly in the car and the AC blows. Lights all work well, along with turn signals, head lights, high beams, fog lights, brake lights, parking lights, reverse lights, license plate lights, etc. Please bid with complete confidence on this vehicle, it is in very good overall condition. Please Read Carefully: The winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to discuss pick up and payment terms. I require a 500.00 deposit via Pay Pal within 24 hours of auctions end. I prefer cash on the remaining balance when the car is picked up or money wired directly to my bank account. Final and complete payment must be made within 3 days of auctions end. The buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements. Your bid is a binding contract.
