Vehicle Detail

I have a 1988 gsxr 750 slingshot. This is a super rare super fast bike and I have literally every item that goes to it. (less what is disclosed in the following) All the fairings are here and all are in awsome shape. One small crack in one fairing but is completly fixable. This bike has never been dropped and has been adult owned all its life..(I have traced back to the other owners)...The bike is complete and even has a hindle exahust that alone is nearly $1000. This is an extremely rare bike and is a piece of Sportbike History. I wanted to resotre it back to showroom condition as this is my favorite bike ever made. Now I have gone and made something else that will be more special .....or so thats what my wife says...haha (my first kid is on its way..hence me selling) So from what I have seen and done to the bike this is what is needed.... It needs a new battery, a key and a front bake master cylinder. I have clear title in my name but no longer have the key. The bike ran awsome all last year up to november when it was parked. Some one with a little patience could have one sick bike. Once again all it needs is a battery (30$ at local shop) (ignition and gas tank key $100) (master brake cylinder rebuild $30) (oil lube and filter-----your on the road. Call me I having my first kid on the way and need to get rid of the toys.........I am extremly motivated to sell!!!!!!!!!!!!! 269.986.3968 I also have this bike for sale locally and reserve the right to sell it before auction end should my price be met. Here is some info on the model: The 1988 Suzuki GSX-R750 'Slingshot' In addition to SACS and Hyper Sports, this Suzuki GSX-R also had ‘Slingshot’ emblazoned on its flanks. This came from the bike’s redesigned Mikuni carburetors, which had straighter intakes for better combustion efficiency. This GSX-R, with its then radical, all-new styling, looked menacing. Mess with it and it would kill you. Power was up to a real world 92 horsepower and the bike was capable of doing more than 230km/h in a straight line. The new, shorter stroke 749cc inline-four got a new bottom end (adapted from Suzuki’s own GSX-R1100), revved quicker and higher than the old model’s engine and was less peaky. While the older GSX-R didn’t wake up at all before 7,000 revs, the new one started making its grunt from 5,000rpm onwards – a big improvement for low speed, city riding. In a surprise move though, the M model went back to a longer stroke engine (perhaps to improve rideability and further reduce peakiness…?), which also made a genuine 100bhp for the first time. The bike’s chassis was a strengthened, beefed-up version of the first GSX-R’s perimeter alloy frame, and steering geometry was made more radical in order to quicken the steering. The M version was the first production motorcycle to get upside-down (USD) front forks, which are now almost ubiquitous on all sports machinery. The ‘Slingshot’ GSX-R also got wider wheels, stickier rubber and higher-spec, multi-adjustable suspension – all of which helped in making it a better tool for the racetrack, where a lot of these bikes ended up being used. With its near unburstable engine and its proclivity for wheelies, stoppies and other acts of assorted two-wheeled hooliganism, this was a ‘proper’ Gixxer and a worthy successor to the first bike. GSX-R 750 (models J, K, L and M) Years: 1988 - 91 Power: 92bhp Weight: 208kg Top Speed: 235km/h 0 – 400m: 12.22 seconds First major revision. New chassis design, engine revisions and body work. Introduction of a new short-stroke version of the oil-cooled engine, now displacing 748 cc. Engine had 73 mm bore and 44.7 mm stoke and could achieve higher engine speeds (13,000 rpm redline indicated, but rev limited engaged at 12,500 according to the Suzuki shop manual). Internal engine dimensions changed to accommodate the new bore and stroke. This engine used larger valves and carburetors then previous years. Mikuni model BST36SS carbs were 36 mm diameter and featured vacuum operated slides. The slide cross section resembled the shape of a slingshot. A larger clutch was used on the short stroke engine with 6 springs. New styling, and twin black silencers. Wheels were now a 17-inch (430 mm) diameter, three spoke design and used a 160/60VR17 in the rear and 120/70VR17 in the front. Slingshot graphic first appeared on the bodywork. Forks now used a cartridge design and were 43 mm in diameter. The second generation model was heavier than the first but had a stiffer frame and more power.
