Vehicle Detail

Truck for Sale 1974 Chevy Cheyenne Details about Truck This truck was purchased of eBay in May 2009 to haul materials as we remodeled our house. We’ve finished our projects and my wife won’t let me keep both my Jeep and my truck. The truck has been mostly restored including: Rebuilt 327 engine from 1968 Camaro (8 cylinder) Rebuilt Transmission with Shift Kit Installed Competition Cams with Full Gear Drive (No Timing Chain) 750 Holley Carb Headman Headers New Pearl White Paint with Orange Pearl Tribal Flames Complete Flow Comp Dual Exhaust (all joints welded and no clamps) Electronic Ignition New Starter New Battery Chrome Valve Covers & Oil Pan Bed Liner Reupholstered New Carpet Chevy Rally Wheels Recent Uniroyal Tires Some of the receipts for the work listed are in the truck but not all of them. I was told that the rebuilt engine had about 10,000 miles on it when I bought it. I’ve put less than 1,000 on it in the last year since I only used it to pick up supplies and take stuff to the dump. (I've included the original auction's details for your reference. Those auction details are no longer available on eBay since it's been so long but I did save a PDF printout of the auction for my records.) I’ve taken the truck in to Lake Murray Automotive here in Chapin, SC for the full look-over and they’ve said it’s in good shape. I’ve also had them replace the starter and signal switch since I bought it. I replaced the battery myself. I can tell you that if you want the truck fully restored, the following would need to be done: Adjustments to gauges - Gauges work but they aren’t calibrated to be accurate. I assume this was something that wasn’t done during the restore and it was never really necessary for me. I’d just fill up periodically and drive with the traffic to make sure I wasn’t speeding. Replacement of heater fan switch - the switch that adjusts the fan from low to high has broken off on the console. Again, it’s always been this way and it’s was never a problem for me. Radio doesn’t work - That way when I bought it and I never really looked into why. Horn doesn’t work - That way when I bought it and I never really looked into why. Turn signal not flashing - one side works fine but the other just stays on solid instead of flashing. Those are the only things I’ve noticed that someone may want to fix if they buy it. As I said above, those things never bothered me. I drove the truck down from NC when I bought it so I think it’ll be a solid vehicle for someone. It’s a real head-turner and is just waiting for someone else to do those final little things to have a show truck. I should point out that the 1968 Camaro engine does not provide air conditioning so the truck doesn't have it. Again, this was never an issue for me but you should know this is the case. It's an old truck that's been restored so it doesn't have all of the modern conveniences. This truck is for someone who wants to turn heads and get some speed from time to time. If that's you, you've found a deal. Reserve I've kept the reserve VERY low since the truck isn't getting any use. I'm just ready to pass it on to someone who will take care of it and enjoy it. The reserve is set for $2000 which is barely over half what I paid for it (see below). Good luck. Original Listing from May 2009 When you read the listing below, know that I've replaced the signal switch and repaired the right front brake caliper. Item number: 150343030736 Winning bid: US $3,502.00 Ended: May-09-09 17:28:12 PDT Title: shortbed pickup, 327 v/8 automatic with custom paint Vehicle Information VIN: ccv144a137675 Description This truck was restored a few years back and has had around 10k miles put on it since. Included in the restoration was a transmission rebuild with shift kit installed a rebuilt 327 out of a 68 camero, this engine was given a competion cams cam with full gear drive (no timeing chain) chrome valve covers, chrome 6 quart oil pan ,new electonic ignition, eldebrock rpm intake, 750 holley carb, headman headers with complete flow comp dual exhaust all joints welded no clamps on exhaust. It was painted pearl white with orange pearl and given orange pearl tribal flames on the front quarter panels. Truck is rust free. Bed has a plastic bed liner installed and a rubber bed mat inside of liner. Interior is excellent with new seat upholstry which has allways been kept covered. Carpet is new and has allways been covered. It has new uniroya tires mounted on chevrolet rally wheels. The truck has a up to date north carolina inspection sticker. A freind and his father restored this truck it had allways been in there family and allways garage kept. The friend needed money for a house so i bought the truck to help him out, now 2 monthes later i need to sell it. only issues i no of are it will need a turn signal switch and the right front brake caliper hangs a little. The truck drives and rides great. Any questions will be answered and truck can be viewed in person. Viewing/Questions If you have questions, I'd prefer you ask through eBay so that I can post answers for all who are interested. If you want to see the truck, it is currently parked on the road and you're welcome to stop and look at it. It's parked on the side of the road between SC 176 and I-26 on Chapin Road in Chapin, SC. If you take I-26 to Chapin and turn AWAY from the town of Chapin, it's approximately 1.2 miles on the left. At Close of Auction Buyer will have to pick up truck in Columbia/Chapin, South Carolina area (no shipping). There will have to be a Paypal deposit of $500 within 2 days of auction closing. I will then meet the buyer at a Columbia or Chapin branch of their bank so that their check can be cashed and the title can be notarized by a bank employee. That way, everyone walks away happy. Truck can be driven home from there by the buyer. Local Sell The truck does have a for sale sign in it so I reserve the right to close this auction early if it sells that way. Good Luck!On Sep-21-10 at 11:59:45 PDT, seller added the following information: NOW OPEN TO ALL BUYERS After several requests, I'm now open to selling this truck to any U.S. buyer who may be interested. HOWEVER, I want to be clear of the following: Transporting the truck from my location to yours is your (buyer's) responsibility and expense. I will be happy to meet with your transport service to load the vehicle and get it on its way safely. I will NOT release the vehicle to a transporter nor will I sign over the title until the full closing bid amount is in my PayPal or checking account. Once the full funds have been received, we can schedule the pickup time for the truck and I will sign and overnight the title to your address. Do not bid unless you are a local buyer or you have at least 10 positive ratings. I won't sell and ship the truck to a brand new eBayer from across the country. There are a lot of scammers out there so I hope you can understand why these guidelines are necessary. I want both of us to walk away happy. Thanks again and GOOD LUCK!
