ATTENTION--FORD FAIRLANE LOVERS!! Rarely OFFERED ON EBAY!! Up for auction is an all original, solid 1964 Ford Fairlane Ranch Wagon with the 260 V8, 2-speed Ford-O-Matic, heavy duty suspension, roll down tailgate window and folding second seat. According to the Fairlane Club of America http://www.fairlaneclubofamerica.com, these are rare options for a wagon. This car was purchased from the older owner a few months back month. It was on the road for many years and then stored in a Garage in North Alabama since Late 1990's. These wagons were primarily used as utility vehicles, back in the day, and then eventully found their way to the recycling yards. I'm sure you will agree this is a rare find. (Wimbleton White) is original Color. Except for some minor spots of rust car is pretty solid. Floors are 99% Solid with few minor pin holes and slight damage in rear cargo area.Left Rear quarter has some bubbles but not real bad and top of windshield on pillars has some rust please see photos for details. The Original 260 was rebuilt at 94000 miles and runs good and does not smoke. The carburetor needs rebuilding and I already have kit and hope to get to it soon. Transmission was rebuilt several years back and car has probably been driven 1500-2000 miles since.Car has Brand New Radiator and hose. Brakes have had wheel cylinders and some new brake lines and work well for 4 wheel drum. The car starts right up, runs and stops smoothly. . The tires are Brand new Hancook 80000 Mile radials on original steel wheel that have been blasted and painted red. I Have 3 original hub caps.Generator light is on I was going to convert to alternator but will let this be next owners choice. Car has horzontial chrome but vertical chrome is gone. I have nearly perfect aluminum Tailgate panel with ranch wagon emblem. The interior is in original condition. The seats are little torn, they have the original All the glass is very good. All the windows go up and down with ease. The roll down tailgate window also works great and has new top seal. The headliner is original and may need to be replaced sometime in the future. It also comes equipped with the original AM radio. All the lights, horns, turn signals, interior lights, wipers, gas gauge, heater/defroster etc. work fine. The floor pans and frame rails are very solid and with a few upgrades I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. There is no deterioration of the inner fenders, in fact, the vin number is clearly visible on the driver's side inner fender. The original battery tray is in good condition. It was my intention, from the very start, to present this car on ebay as original as possible, the way it came when I got it, without any body work, paint, polish etc. I wanted the next owner to have the opportunity to give it their own personal touch, not mine. Wagons are desirable and a restored Fairlane Ranch Wagon can command a good price, http://www.oldride.com/classic_cars/165239.html. For those of you looking for an all original Fairlane with a great history, this is it. The driver's side door tag (see photo) contains the following: Body-71D (4 Door Ranch Wagon) Color-M (Wimbledon White) Trim-44 (Light Beige Med Preline Vinyl) Date Built-05E (May 5 In Kansas City Mo Plant) Dso-36 (Louisville Ky) Axle-4 (3.25-1 Ratio) Trans-3 (2-Speed Ford-O-Matic) Vin #4K38F198244 Rat Rod, Hot Rod, Gasser, Thunderbolt, Sleeper, Custom, Comet, A/fx, Long Roof When was the last time you saw one of these at a car show, on the road or better yet anywhere? Looking along the contour lines of the car, it appears to have all of its original panels and there's no evidence of any accident damage. If you've been waiting for a Fairlane Ranch Wagon to come along then don’t let this one get away; avoid disappointment and future regret. The reserve on this car is set very low. Check my Ebay history; I have strived to maintain a 100% positive feedback rating over the years. I’m not an expert on the value or condition of these vehicles, and therefore, my opinion of a vehicle may not be the same as yours. Even though I always include photos of the undercarriage on Ebay, I suggest serious bidders come examine this Ford, or have someone come and inspect it to make sure you know what you are bidding on before you bid. A commercial type lift is available. Feel free to request as many other photos as needed. Also, a list of finance companies, transport companies, and insurance agencies can be provided. Also, inspection services with a detailed report are available through www.cars-on-line.com They will provide you with a very thorough inspection report. I’m not a dealer, this is just a hobby, so feel free to ask any questions and any inspection is always welcome. It's a good idea to get an estimate of the transport cost ahead of time and that can be obtained from www.autotransport.com, (zip code is 35758). Due to some recent scams involving some shady transporters, I will make sure that the transporter you select is the same company (person) who physically picks up the car. Also, I will take and send you photos of the transport rig, its license plate/driver and the car being loaded, including its securement and placement on or within the rig for your piece of mind. NOBODY DOES ALL THAT!! Should you have any questions about this vehicle, contact Joe @ (256-755-1652). Foreign bidders are always welcome! VEHICLE TERMS: The car is SOLD AS-IS, with no guarantee/warranty either expressed or implied. Successful bidder pays $300 down payment (PayPal is preferred) for the vehicle within 48 hours of bid close and should make arrangements to pick up the car within 2 weeks of auction close. Seller releases all responsibility for the car upon receipt of payment from bidder. Buyer will assume all responsibility for said vehicle, including but not limited to liability. This Fairlane is for sale locally and the seller has the right to end this auction early. NOTE: I've had several emails asking about the book value of the car. According to NADA, the book values on the Fairlane Ranch Wagon are quite impressive: Low Retail: $5250 Average Retail: $9960 High Retail: $19,680 The reserve is much below these figures. Good Luck to All! On Sep-18-10 at 20:14:22 PDT, seller added the following information: 09/18/2010 9:45 Pm I look daily at wagons on H.A.M.B, Craigslist, E-Bay, Station Wagon Forumns. If your alive and breathing you know wagons are going strong and are very popular. My friend and I drive our Chevrolet his is 1962 Impala and Mine is a 1966 Belair to many local car shows and Heads turn for our wagons as much or more than any Camaro, Mustang, Or Muscle Car. Most where destroyed in Demo Derbys or died a brutal death as a work horse hauling Plywood and building materials on Saturday and the Family to Church on Sunday and Dad and Mom to Work on Monday. These are the beginnings of SUV's. Throught the years there have been several Famous Drag Car like Dyno Don's 64 Comet. In 1964 Ford was tired of being Whooped by the Chysler Hemi's and Chevrolet 409's.Fords 406 Galaxies where just to heavy so Ford Crammed The 427 in the Mid Sized Fairlane Post Car thus making one of the Fastest Car's ever built with the ThunderBolt. They Built 100 and they went to the Famous Drivers Like Dick Brannon, Lynn Ricter, John Donaldson, Pat Gray, Hubert Plat. Who Whooped All Takers. I have seen several wagons Cloned in to Thunderbolts with Crites Fiberglass parts they look Cool and whole Family can ride with you. My Car has custom Dual 2 1/4 exhaust with Single Chamber Flow Masters and Small Converters so your wife can ride with you and not smell like Exhaust. If prefered I will put stock mufflers on car if you want quiet. Here are several wagons listed lately and prices they brought or reserve they did not meet. Mine is way below most and with carb and generator rebuild will be nice Daily Driver. 1.67 Chevelle Super Nice $10099.99 (Reserve Not Met) 2.66 Fury Not Running $2800 (Reserve Not Met) 3.66 Caprice not Running Loaded with options and Big Block($4995 Reserve Not Met) 4.78 Fairmont $5000 (Reserve Not Met) 5.63 Fairlane (Barn Car Running but needs work) Sold For $3555.55 Here are few of my Favorite Wagon links: Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dyno+dons+wagon&aq=f http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oa65MxjQcGU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raVrQExg3ew http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXcZZWZJOio http://userpages.bright.net/~tbolt/ http://www.angelfire.com/hi/427fairlane/On Sep-23-10 at 19:31:35 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/23/2010 1 day left and car is getting real close to reserve. I had someone look at photos and point out in add says Car has horzontial chrome but vertical chrome is gone. This is backwards It has vertical chrome and aluminum tail gate trim with nice emblem but does not have horzontial chrome. I am sorry for the mix up I have seen serveral pieces of chrome both on e-bay and in station wagon forumns so it should be pretty easy to find. My guess is 4 door chrome might work also. Does anyone know for sure. Thanks
