Vehicle Detail
The International is back! For those who viewed the former auction, the prospective buyer was not satisfied with running condition of the vehichle due to a leak in the carburateur. That issue has been repaired. In addition to that fix, the vehicle has a new battery; repaired leak in gas supply line; new plates and tag; thorough cleaning and a couple other tweaks. Status is that the engine will start and run but we have had some issues keeping it running. This 1968 International Travelall looks great with all original windows with minimal surface rust. It was the last year of the curved glass and it is a very cool looking ride. Think of the possibilities with some additional effort! This is a powerful V8 with 345 cu in. displacement. It is the 1100 Version with original paint and all original gauges, dash, bumpers. The rear window still operates like new. Transmission is 4 speed on the floor - with first gear effectively being a "crawler" gear. Clutch operates fairly smoothly. Has power steering. Front passenger door hinge needs attention. No known issues with brakes (disc front/drum rear) There is no bondo in this truck and no dents. Interior seat fabric is original and shows its age but intact. Original manufacture had no seatbelt. With minimal effort this would be a very reliable truck, mechanically sound and straight body, it is not perfect but very, very good. The vehicle also has some nice extras including air conditioning unit under dash and a trailer hitch. Original International documentation reflects design importance of using this vehicle to tow trailers. There was even a matching Travelall trailer. This is an ideal truck for a restoration project. Cavernous hood and straightforward design makes working on engine much easier than more modern engine design. Hate to let it go - and have set initial price slightly above prior reserve since this is a relisting and could not increase the reserve to reflect addition investment over the last month. Serious bidders only please. This is a wonderful collector car.
