This car is fresh out of a 25 year barn storage. I bought this car from the father of a friend. He was using it as daily transportation at the time. I put it away for restoration at a later time and never got back to it. I still have several cars ahead of it to restore so have decided to sell it. I have accumulated some spare parts which will sell with it. I pulled it out of the barn and cleaned it up. After cleaning the points and some fresh gas, it started right up. I drove it out into the yard to take the pictures. It will need a complete cosmetic restoration but will make an attractive driver. There were fewer than 7000 500XL convertibles made in 1968 so it is a rare body style. Features: 390 2bbl. V8, Cruisomatic Bucket seats, console, floor shift, hidden headlights, front disc brakes. No air conditioning, manual windows and seats AM/FM stereo radio Power top (works good!) Clear Ohio title Less than 82,000 miles Engine runs very good, no noises or smoke. Brand new radiator just installed before I started it up. Windshield is PERFECT, side windows are in very good condition. Bad: Rust in trunk floor and rear seat floors. Front floors very good. Rust in lower rear quarters. Right front fender has damage. Trunk lid replaced with non XL lid. The correct trim is included. Frame was repaired just before I bought it. Absolutely no brakes, no emergency brake D**N raccoons have damaged the upholstery. Driver's seat good. Others need repair. See pictures. Will need new top. Has good glass rear window. Spare parts that go with: (see pictures) Set of spare bumpers. Better than on the car but only fair condition. Very nice matching dash pad. One blemish. Gas tank. I do not know or remember the condition of the tank in the car. Original wheel covers. 3 park light lenses. A set of Foxcraft fender skirts for the '68 Galaxie.
