1988 Ford Ranger Ext No Reserve I've owned this Ranger since 1997. It's a fun truck to drive and you get a lot of looks. It's nice to have in the winter. I never took it off-roading and only drove it about 3000 miles a year to work and around town. It's push button 4x4 control above the rearview mirror. The body work and paint was done at the end of 2008. A few crinkles spots(and a run on left rear quarter)need to be fixed and then a good heavy clear coat and it would look great. I had to start driving it after the first coat and didn't have time to get back to it. The only part on the body that needs to be replaced is the left rear quarter by the wheel. The rest of the truck is pretty solid as you can see and the bed is in great shape for a truck this old. Doors are solid, windows work, new weatherstripping all around. The interior is in very good shape, seats are excellent. Only thing the interior needs is new carpet and the middle armrest fixed. not much $ I replaced the engine in 1999 with the same 2.9 liter V-6, which had about the same miles on it. Last year I had a shop replace the back axle because the differential went out, the new one is in good shape so no worries there. Other than those no work besides replacing brake pads, etc most of the brake lines are newer. It does need a new exhaust from the catalytic conv back. I've been driving without it, no rush. For a 22 year old truck it's in pretty good shape. Good for just a work and winter truck or a little more work and it would look awesome for a show truck.
