Vehicle Detail

The motorcycle you are bidding on is a very complete and original 1974 Honda CR250 Elsinore motocross bikes. The Honda Elsinore bikes are probably one of the most collectable and popular of all the vintage motocross bikes. I have owned this bike for a number of years along with several other Honda's and now I have relocated to Florida and don't have the room for so many bikes, so I decided to put the bike up on Ebay for another enthusiast. What I liked about this particular bike was the originality of the machine. The fenders, the tank and the sidepanels are all stock Honda paint with the correct Honda fasteners holding them in place. The seat has the original foam and cover with the Honda logo on the back. The chrome handlebars, levers, perches, and kill switch are all OEM. The suspension features nice rust-free forks with clean polished aluminum lowers and perfect chrome caps. The wheels are still laced with the original spokes with cad-plated nipples and the bike rolls on period correct Dunlops. I believe Honda issued the bikes with Bridgestones and Dunlops back then and I'm pretty sure these tires are the original skins and they still look good. When I first purchased the bike, I removed all the bodywork and touched up the frame paint because I don't like unpainted items that gather rust. I also removed the engine sidecovers and gave them a fresh satin black coat of paint to dress up the engine. I also took a few pictures so that a prospective bidder could see the originality of the bike. The frame still has the correct tank bumpers attached with all the OEM aluminum ties holding wires and cables in place. Even the air filter element is OEM Honda. The engine itself runs, clutches, and shifts with the normal Honda efficiency. There are no issues with a slipping kickstarter that are often found on these old bikes. The carburetor is the stock Keihen with all the proper vent lines and circlips. The exhaust is complete with the original "pickle" silencer. There are a few dings in the pipe and a weld repair underneath, but no crushed areas that would hamper performance. The frame and swingarm are solid with no strip out bolts or cracks to be found. The bike also features all the little parts that are hard to find if you are doing a correct restoration. You will notice items like the clutch cable clamp on the front downtube, the small clamp for the ignition wire on the countershaft cover, the chain guard that protects the frame from chain rash, the OEM front numberplate with a real Honda rubber strap, and the two castle nuts and bolts holding the engine mounts in place. All of these parts are hard to locate if they are missing. Anyways, the bike does feature scratches and dings on the fenders and sidepanels and the tank is showing its own patina from age. However, a bike is only original once and I have enjoyed this bike for being a time capsule from the past. Plus, I could load it up and take it out to shows and never worry about a getting knicks. Best of luck bidding The bike comes with a Bill of Sale and I will assist all I can with delivery, however the winning bidder is responsible for shipping costs.
