Superlative example of the 1988 Jaguar XJ6! I have owned this car since the late 90's and it has never stopped attracting compliments. I purchased it freshly repainted in black (the original color can be seen in the door openings) with narrow chrome trim applied along each side. This combination makes the car look lower and longer, greatly enhancing the elegance. Although I am fond of burgundy and British Racing Green for these cars, nothing looks quite as good as gloss black, in my opinion. I am a collector and have owned several Jaguars. This "XJ40" remains my favorite. Unfortunately, I am moving abroad and cannot take any of my cars with me. Driven only during the Summer and frequently polished, this Jaguar has been well preserved. The engine runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly. The self leveling system, a problem in some Jaguars, operates to specification. However, there are a few negatives. The brake pads need to be replaced soon, the power antenna won't go down (occurred this Summer), the trunk key is missing (the trunk can be locked and unlocked through the central locking system), the dash information center says the power fluid is low, yet levels are topped off, and there are no carpets in the trunk. I have had a local body shop check for replacement carpets, but they have not been successful so far. This car looks better than many produced today and is very distinctive on the road. In a culture that is fixated on the new, this is one gem that is the exception. The asking price is very low for a car of this caliber. No loans or liens on this car.
