Vehicle Detail
This partially restored car is being sold due to the death of the owner. I (Randy) am listing this car on behalf of the deceased’s widow. While I have a fairly good knowledge of the car, I don’t know it like Tom did, but I’ll tell you what I know in this listing. It was originally purchased from Riley Motors (no longer in business) in Sheridan, Wy. Tom L. purchased it 11/1/08 from a fellow in Lakeville, Mn. whose family owned it for 20 years. It has not been started for 18 years. Much (if not all) stainless trim has been professionally restored. Much (if not all) chrome has been professionally redone. Bumpers etc. Interior door panels have been professionally reupholstered, as new. Many (if not all) small parts like switches etc. have been disassembled and cleaned and refurbished, including the radio. Patch panels and solid fenders have been purchased and go with the car. Lots of books (as pictured) go with the car. The trim options book is very valuable, in the neighborhood of $1000.00. The car was originally copper-glow with a red interior! It is equipped with PS., PB., 6-way power seat, power windows, and power top. We have a small model of this car that goes with the real car. Even painted Copper-Glow and Red! My estimation would be that this car is between 1/3 and ½ of the way done in the restoration process. It still needs all bodywork and paint, engine and transmission rebuilds, and some dash work. It also needs seat upholstery and carpet that are not included with this car. In summary, Tom got a very good start on this car, but it still has a long way to go. He was meticulous about photographing, tagging, bagging, and marking everything so he could reassemble the car. However, I’m not him, so I can’t answer every detail about the car as he could. The car was fairly solid and complete as you can see in the pictures, when he started on it. I believe that everything is there to complete the car. If you need a photo of something specific, I will provide it for you, assuming you are bidding on the car, and not using my photos to restore your own. Please be polite! I/we invite you to look at the car in Minnetonka, Minnesota (Minneapolis area) or call with questions on my cell phone 612-759-8790 Randy, or Rollie @ 952-201-4392. I am in the central time zone. I/we will not ship this car overseas….don’t ask. The reserve is set at a reasonable amount that should allow you to finish the car without getting upside-down.
