Up for bid is an ALL NUMBERS MATCHING 1971 Firebird Formula 400, black paint, black interior (original color)– more of a rarity than almost all Firebird Trans Ams. This is a 2-owner car and has been owned by my father since 1973. It has Rally wheels with brand new Good Years on them – including the spare – and all of the numbers match on the rims as well. It is equipped with front disc brakes, power steering, power brakes and is an automatic. The only non-original markings on this vehicle are the bolt-on Trans Am wheel flairs and pin striping – both of which can be removed so the car can be like the day it was made. This vehicle was professionally rust proofed and undercoated when the restoration was done in 1976. Not one spot of rust exists anywhere on this car. This car has resided in my father’s garage since and has only been driven for a total of 351 miles. It is a fair-weather driver and never experienced rain or snow. This is one of the cleanest cars I’ve found anywhere. How often do you find a car that’s in this condition – garaged and covered – for 37 years. This is like the urban legend of buying it from a little old lady that only drove it to church on Sundays – but it’s real!
