1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe with California black license plates, excellent original interior, freshly rebuilt engine, and rare chrome center console. Solid and straight, perfect body gaps, zero rust or accidents ever. When we bought this car four months ago, it was 100% original paint, all the original trim was near perfect, and the original engine was freshly rebuilt but never started. We installed the radiator, rebuilt the carburetor, started the engine for the first time, and it runs smooth as silk. We sent the bumpers for rechroming, stripped the trim, prepped and hand-blocked the entire car, had it painted the original white, then wet sanded and polished it to a mirror finish. The freshly rechromed bumpers and all the trim were then reinstalled. The original interior was nearly perfect, so our upholsterer did some minor repairs and installed new black carpet, custom cut and fit to the car. Finally, we bought new tires for the car last week. This car is bone solid and it has never been abused. Please note the undercarriage pictures which show the tremendous condition of this car: ever nut is completely unrusted and easy to remove. It drives solid, straight and smooth, with no rattles or squeaks whatsoever. The engine has been run approximately 75 miles and it positively purrs. The overall condition and appearance is excellent, as you can see. I found post cars for sale and a few hardtops, but I have not seen any Sport Coupes with the chrome console. I work diligently to offer great solid California cars, and I price them aggressively, rarely listing them twice. This car is titled as a 1963 but clearly it is a 1964 model. The VIN 4r47f101202 shows this clearly. The first number indicates the year, the same as early Mustangs. The model year is 1964 and somehow California DMV incorrectly put 1963 on the title. This minor issue has no connection to the longterm value of this exceptionally clean car. The year can easily be corrected when the car is retitled, if anyone is concerned about it.On Sep-12-10 at 21:07:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Fairlanes are not my expertise. Finding the best black-plated original California cars with zero rust is my expertise, and I do it full time. I usually deal with early Porsches, Jaguars, Mercedes, and other higher-dollar models. I bought this Fairlane because of its condition, and because I personally think it is one of the best looking models Ford put out during the sixties.
