History: In 1963, only 3,138 Continental Convertibles were produced making it the second lowest yearly production total of the suicide door style convertibles made by Lincoln from 1961 through 1967. Note: This 1963 Lincoln is similar to one of the three Lincolns presented to President Kennedy for his private use shortly after his inauguration by J.J. Saunders, administratvie manager of the Ford Motor Company in Natic, Massachusetts. The cars, delivered in the fall of 1962, were to be used not for presidential touring, but for JFK and his staff when he visited in Hyannisport.
