Vehicle Detail
1987 Jaguar XJ6 Series III Last year of the XJ6. Completely original throughout and always garaged. We’ve owned the car for about 10 years and have used it as a weekend pleasure cruiser but haven’t used it much for the past couple of years. The car starts right up, does not smoke at all, runs, drives, and shifts as it should. The ride is Jaguar smooth. Always maintained with Mobil 1 Synthetic. It’s had 2 new front mufflers recently, the car has dual factory exhaust with 4 mufflers, the two rearmost mufflers will need replacement next but are not loud at this point. New starter a year ago. The paint is original in dark red maroon and shows it’s age and mileage, I’d call it a 20 footer. There are a few small areas of rust starting, (bubbling under the paint), the front end has the normal amount of paint chips and there are a few scratches but no holes or large dents, (See pics). The frame is very solid. The interior cabin is leather and wood trim, the leather is very nice for its age and has been taken care of properly, there are no holes or tears in the leather. The dash is very good as are the door panels. The carpeting is stained in places but otherwise in good shape. The car is completely loaded with factory options, most still work, some do not. It has power windows, all working fine. AC, doesn’t work now but did. Cruise control, works at times, factory radar detector, works. Power sunroof, works. Engine runs strong and smooth but does have the normal slight fluid leaks as they all do have, it just needs to be watched and maintained. Tires are nearly new Pirelli touring, excellent handling and very smooth and quiet. The brakes work fine but there is a slight pulse in the pedal, possibly an out-of-round rotor. All in all this is a decent original classic Jaguar that needs an owner capable of maintaining her properly. Honestly you should not expect to jump in and drive it across the country as it is 23 years old, but it’s a great weekend ride. Anyone considering bidding is encouraged to come and see the car in person, we’ve tried to describe the car as closely as possible but a car of this vintage should be seen in person.
