Vehicle Detail
1968 Camaro Rally Sport Z/28 Super RARE options. I am selling my super rare project car. This particular Z is rare on many levels. First it is an original AA code Tuxedo black paint with white stripes. It has the Rally Sport option, 714 deluxe black interior, and very rare cowl plenum air cleaner setup (not reproduction). I have a very long list of original parts, NOS parts, and a few reproduction parts as well. The deluxe interior is very clean and original. The car will need some rust repair including trunk pan and floor pans. All original glass is intact and verified by code and date. I have a correct date MO 302 engine block that is CE (warranty), correctly dated 291 casting heads, a factory steel p/n 3279 crankshaft, an original p/n 9347 solid lifter cam, a freshly rebuilt M22 rock crusher, and a correct date 12 bolt 4.10 posi that is BV code. Another aspect of rarity is the fact that this car is late December 1967 production (12D) and the AA code Tuxedo black was discontinued on January 1, 1968. This could be the last factory black Z/28 made before the color was discontinued. The car has been documented and certified by the man himself, Jerry MacNeish. He is the author of the book, "The Definitive 1967-1968 Camaro Z/28 Fact Book. Jerry told me that he has only documented one other AA code 1968 Z/28 in his database. There are obviously more out there but not many. The car is still partially disassembled and in unrestored condition. A few of the rare original parts include: distributor, early correct DF 15x6 wheels, aluminum intake and Holley List 4053, 15 inch tire sticker in the glovebox, 4 piston brakes (complete with original rotors), RS equipment, and correct Julian dated power brake booster. Most of the hard to find parts are there to put it back together again. I will be screening emails and not listing a phone number at this time. I have the blue clear Texas title in my name. Many parts not listed! I included one picture of what it might look like when restored! The car is shown in it's current condition and will need a full restoration to be in showroom condition again. I have a sizeable amount of money invested in this as every piece acquired is expensive. Jerry MacNeish's report places this car in the $85-90k price range in restored condition due to the number of rare options. I will share that in this ad as well. The GOOD: Super rare first generation Camaro. It has been documented by the best appraiser on first gen Camaros. I have tracked ownership back to 1982 and will pass this information on to the new owner. All original body tags are in place and untampered with. The hidden VIN's are there and match as they should. All original glass is there and matches. The CE block is a spot on match date code (V1219MO). The BV Code 4.10 posi is an all original rear with a correct date of 12 18 67. The car has an extra 12 bolt 3.55 posi included with the deal (PI code from a 1967) Many rare original rare parts like distributor, intake, Holley carb, disc brakes, and the original deluxe interior is in pretty good shape. Long list of parts included like most of the body panels, trim, DF code wheels, fully restored GM cowl plenum air cleaner with NOS AC filter. The front subframe is rebuilt with new bushings and ball joints. It still retains the original disc rotors. Many NOS parts including emblems, derby caps, front bumper, and RS gas cap (Correct one). Options on the car include: A01 Tinted glass D55 Console G80 Positraction 4.10 ratio (BV code) J52 Disc brakes M22 4-speed U73 rear antenna U63 AM radio Z22 rally sport equipment Z28 special engine and equipment package w/ cowl plenum air cleaner THE BAD: The car has rust in the floor pans, trunck pan, and rockers. It will need metal replaced to be brought back to working order. The subframe is not currently attached to the body. There are still a few items that will have to be aquired to make it complete. I know there are going to be a million questions and I will do my best to answer them as quickly as possible. The buyer must pay with a verified cashier's check, cash, or wire transfer within 7 days of auction end. The car can be stored for up to 30 days as long as payment is received. A longer storage may be negotiated if necessary. On Sep-02-10 at 04:40:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Before I bid I would like to know more. Do your front fenders need any work? rust repair or dent repair? I believe they are very useable and not rusty. Again, I am not a body guy but they look great to me. The original front end is incuded with the car but is very rusty. It is useable to mark and locate the correct emblem locations etc...I also have NOS Rally sport emblems and 302 emblems.
