Vehicle Detail

For your consideration is my 1962 Mercury Colony Park; it is what they call a “survivor”. It is equipped with a 390ci 300 hp engine, Cruise-O-Matic multi-drive transmission, power steering, power brakes, factory air (not an add on) and factory dual exhaust . The paint is mostly original and thin in places; there are a few dents and scratches. There is a wiper scratch on the windshield and the right quarter panel is a little wavy but hidden well by the wood applique (see picture). As far as rust goes, there are a few bubbles around the rear wheel well on the right side and a small crack in front of the left rear wheel. The engine and transmission operate as they should, as do the brakes. I did add a Petronix electronic ignition. All the instruments and lights work. The clock is not working, the radio is intermittent, the air works and blows cool but not as cold as it used to, so it needs charging. The rear electric window works. Other than the windshield all glass is good and original. I put a set of Torque Thrust D’s and new Goodyear Eagle GTII tires on the car about 3 years ago, I also have the original wheels and hubcaps that go with the car. There are tires on the original wheels which have good tread but I don’t know their age. In addition I added rear air shocks. The interior is original and in very good condition, with the exception of a split on the drivers side seat where the stitching came loose. The dash pad has no cracks, has a factory remote adjustable left hand outside mirror as well as a Kleenex dispenser under the dash. The chrome is shiny, the fiberglass fake wood trim and woodgrain applique are in pretty good condition. There are some dents on the stainless strip on the tailgate, plus some pitting on the door handles and luggage rack. The odometer shows a little over sixty thousand miles; I can’t document that is original miles but I really believe they are. There is a dealer logo on the tailgate from Las Vegas, NV, I’m not sure if that is where it was first sold because the car was built in the East. The car is in my name with a clean Oklahoma title and is located 18 miles south of Tulsa, OK. I enjoyed using this car as is, it’s is a very nice untouched original car. It would not take much to make it even nicer. Please remember that it is a 46 year old car, which means for it’s age it’s in pretty good condition but not perfect. I would be willing to adjust the selling price downward $1200 if the buyer does not want the aftermarket wheels and tires. Shipping is the buyers responsibility but I will be happy to help with shipping arrangements. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction early. Those pictures will show that this car has no rust other than what I described in my add. The rubber dust deflectors installed by the factory below the rear bumper are still there are still there!
