Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a beautiful, well-maintained 1966 Mosport Green, 427, 425 NOM roadster. The original motor was sold and I had the existing "date Code Correct", 4 bolt main motor rebuilt by "High Speed Performance" out of Chicagoland and less than 1,000 miles have been put on it since then. This past month I had $2,000 worth of work and detailing done on it, again by "High Speed Performance". I have the original "Build Sheet" and the build date is May 24, 1966. The car starts without any hesitation and runs smoothly. Shifts smoothly. I had the trans, which is the original Muncie M21, rebuilt about 10 years ago and still have the original parts. It has the G81 option for positraction rear axle 3.36 ratio. Had new racing starter put on, but I still have the original starter also. All the gauges work correctly (including the clock) and I had Corvette Clocks by Roger rebuild the speedo and had him leave it with the original miles on it. I have receipt to prove that. The headlights and wipers all work nicely. Has switch for power antenna, but has non-power antenna mounted on it now. Radio works great. The exterior is in excellent condition. I think it might have been repainted just prior to my getting it, but not sure. Paint is in excellent condition also with no fading. The car has rarely been driven the last 10 years, but started, run and maintained. Seats and rug were replaced also 10 years ago. The only negatives are some scratches on original rocker panels and because I always left the top down, some rust marks on convertible top material and it doesn't seem as tight as it should be. Because of this I am including a brand new, still in the box black top from Al Knoch. I recently became disabled and can no longer push in the clutch very well or drive the car confidently. This is why I am selling it. If you have any questions, please email me and I will try to answer as well as I can. All sales final. A non-refundable deposit of $500 must be made within 48 hours of end of auction. Thank you and happy bidding. NO TRADES, CASH ONLY, PRIVATE SALE. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T INTEND ON PURCHASING THIS BIG BLOCK CORVETTE. This car will not be released to buyer or shipper until all funds have cleared. Personal or professional pre-purchase inspections are welcome but MUST be made BEFORE the auction ends. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please ask any questions you may have about this vehicle BEFORE you bid or make an offer. I welcome you to come and inspect it before you bid. Payment in full, IS due 7 days after auction closes. All sales final. By bidding you fully understand and agree to all terms. On Aug-27-10 at 10:06:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm sorry for the confusion about the tach. I neglected to mention that original motor that matches build sheet and tach, was a 427, 390hp motor. I replaced it with the 427, 425 but did not replace original tach. Thanks, Dani
