Vehicle Detail
Offered for auction is this 1937 Cadillac La Salle 4 door Touring Sedan Model 37-5019, with the restoration started. The flat-head V8 sounds good; car runs in all gears but is not highway worthy yet. The original radio and heater is there (radio doesn’t work). Included is an original ‘Your LA SALLE’ owner’s manual with the original lube chart and electrical diagram. Harley Earl was proud of his La Salles and you will be too when the restoration of this car is finished. I regret I am unable to finish this great project. The car has been covered and stored in my pole barn. LIST of replaced and/or restored items: Clear Minnesota Title with Collector Plates. Black lacquer finish on body with minor storage scratches…no dents or rust. Wheel cylinders and brake shoes replaced; drums turned. Rebuilt generator…original generator included…needs restoration. Upholstery kit partially installed…headliner, seats, door-panels. There are some stains on the rear seat and headliner. Reproduction Rock Valley stainless steel gas tank and sensor unit…($625.00). Four reproduction Coker Firestone 750:16 tires with 4-½ inch white sidewalls …talk about gangster whitewalls…brand new ($800.00 plus inner tubes). Front and rear bumpers re-chromed; missing one vertical bumper guard and one La/S center-logo bumper plate. Outer tie-rod ends replaced…inner tie-rods included not installed. Front stabilizer rubber and hardware replaced. Four new reproduction hubcaps installed with correct reproduction 1937 La Salle La/S hubcap center logos, not installed; included are 4 original hubcaps needing restoration. Newer 6-volt heavy-duty battery. Some extra parts, including an original replacement speedometer assembly and a restored horn button. Car transport, title transfer and associated taxes are the responsibility of the successful bidder. Will consider delivery based on distance and agreed to compensation. Deposit of US $500.00 is due within 2 days of auction close. Balance of auction price is due within 7 days of auction close. Payments accepted include: Cashier's Check (certified US or Canadian), Postal Money Order, or cash in person when picking up car. Ask questions before you place a bid. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. On Aug-30-10 at 09:32:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to thank all those many eBayers who are presently looking at my '37 La Salle auction effort, those that wrote questions about the car, and especially those action minded folks who have been bidding. To give further incentive to prospective bidders that might be interested, I have lowered my eBay reserve to US $6000.00. All other previously stated terms-of-sale stated above still apply. I'll be glad to answer any additional questions you may have about the Caddy La Salle, between now and auction close at 5 PM PDT, on September 1st. Good luck bidding.
