Vehicle Auctions This is a 2001 Ford Taurus for sale by the Sheriff. This was purchased new in 2001 and since used as an investigator's car. The answers to questions requesting additional information will be posted on the item description as the auction progresses. Here is what I know: The vehicle is a 3.0 liter V6 with 96682 miles on the odometer. The driver's rear wheel well is rusty. On the driver's door in front of the mirror is an imperfection. It was dented in our parking lot in 2001 and fixed. Over the years the paint has begun to fade in the spot where it was fixed. The roof shows a few small indentations from hail. The windshield is cracked on the passenger side. I've attached photos of these flaws. The hood opens a little hard. I needed someone to pull the latch inside while I pulled on the hood to get it open. Otherwise it seems in good condition. The license plates expire in August 2010 so the tabs are due. VEHICLES/SHERIFF’S SALES The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department currently disposes of select vehicles through public auction on eBay. The vehicles are listed with no reserve price, meaning the highest bidder wins the auction. Auctions typically start at $1. While the department will make every effort to note each defect or characteristic to help you make an informed purchase decision we simply don’t know cars to the level of detail that has been requested in some of the auctions held since the department started using eBay in 2002. Vehicle titles must be transferred prior to taking possession. Out-of-state buyers can purchase 31-day permits for about $8 at the local license bureau, which would allow the vehicle to be driven. Minnesota residents must handle license and registration transfer prior to the vehicle being driven. The local license bureau office (5 minutes away) is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A license bureau office in the city of St. Louis Park (Mpls suburb, 45 minutes away) is open on Saturday. You will leave our office with the vehicle, keys and the title in hand. PLEASE NOTE: 1. As mentioned above, we don’t drive the vehicles and can’t attest to their operability. 3. Purchaser is responsible for transportation to and from the Sherburne County Government Center in Elk River, MN. 4. Unless otherwise specified, vehicle will be available for public inspection/pick-up at 13880 Highway 10, Elk River, MN 55330 weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Central Standard Time. 5. Full Payment is due within 7 calendar days from the end of auction. 6. Most of our vehicles come with expired license plates. Purchaser should check with local license bureau for licensing requirements. 7.
