Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1969 MGC. Now they only made the C for 2 years and is extremely rare. The diference from the B is the MGC has a 2912cc OHV 6 cylinder pushrod engine capable of producing 150 horsepower up to 120mph. The MGC also has a new front cross member and torsion bar springing for the front suspension, while the bonnet was given the MGC it's characteristic bulge. Only 9,000 were made and who knows how few are actually still n existence. It is a four speed manual with electric overdrive. This particualr MGC is in superb condition, with only a few minor issues which i will list. It has 75xxx and has been owned by my grandfather and garage kept since the 80s. It has been tuned up and checked out once a year since by a guy specializing in only older british cars. The car was recently repainted by me 2 years ago. I am a professional painter, My shop paints fords cars for use in commercials so we truely are the best of the best. It took over 7 months to complete the job and we did everything the right way right down to removing the windshield. The car starts up like a honda it is great. There are no issues with the motor although tbhe radiator was replaced several years ago. It drives great, we recently took it on a 100 mile drive and it was fine, oil pressure held steady at 50 and first gear had no grinding issues. As far as rust the car is clean. Doors, rockers, and undercarriage is awesome. I did however find some rust on the underside of the dash, right above where your legs would be. It is not a complete rust through or anything but i just wanted to mention it. The engine bay has some small rust spots and some of the paint is chipped. The car still has the jack and handle along with the original wheel wrench and Repair manual. Now for the issues/problems: Everything electrical works in the car EXCEPT the radio. The top is in great condition but there are two small tears that have been repaired in the corners where the rods push it up. The car also comes with two different tannaeu covers. On the dash on the passenger side there is a spot where it appears that someone tried to put several patches of plastic over it and there is a buldge. There steering wheel has wood inlay in it. There is about and inch of that chipped out. Overall This is a great car, great cruiser and a really great example of an extremely rare car. You will not find a better MGC that hasnt had a body off resto. She is definately ready to drive, even long cruises. Any questions please dont hesitate to write me, or ask for my phone number through ebay. I am also taking offers, i am looking to sell fast and need the money so ALL offers will be considered.
