This is a 1972 jeep cj5 it has a v8 304 engine which runs great. the transmission has a problem in reverse. i believe that the transfer case needs some work. this body is in excellent condition. has some surface rust. inside on the floorboards it is solid. hood solid. please call michael at 843 224 1503 if you have any questions thank youOn Aug-25-10 at 20:47:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I just had a mechanic fully check out this jeep today. The battery is dead in the jeep. The jeep cranks right up no problem and the engine runs great. The jeep moves but is not driveable. it needs a new clutch. the reverse is bad in the transmission synchronizers. Also there is a problem with the transfer case. needs either new tranny and new transfer case or they need to be rebuilt. body of course needs to be painted and the windshield frame is rusted and also needs to be replaced. jeep has great tires and rims. body is solid and not rust. frame is also solid and also has very little rust. This is the first year that a 304 v8 engine was put into a cj. i am not sure if it is a renegade but the color was red before it was painted white. There also is a brand new carb installed in this jeep and it comes with the k&n air breather with filter very new. also wiring needs attention for the lights.
