Vehicle Detail
1967 Cougar XR-7 Up for auction is my completely restored and extremely fast original 1967 Cougar XR-7. This is a great example of a very clean and rust-free California Cougar that has been in the same family since new. Everything has been redone in the past two years including a 2 stage paintjob, interior, and a custom built fresh engine with less than 500 miles on it. Car needs nothing but a new home, well over $20k invested. Very reliable and can be driven anywhere. I’m selling it because I have a 62 Lincoln convertible that I would like to begin restoring and need the money from this car to get that project going.. Drivetrain: Blueprinted 302 bored .30 over, flat top pistons 9.5:1 compression, Crane cam roller rockers, 280 hydraulic Comp cam, double roller timing chain, HEI distributor, high rise aluminum intake, Holley Street Avenger double pumper 670 cfm, ceramic coated Headman long tube headers, 2 ½ exhaust with Flowmasters, 3 row aluminum radiator.. Too much to list on the engine, I have all the specs and build sheets from Joe Sherman Racing Engines and Engine Supply. The transmission is a C-4 auto with a 1500-2000 Boss Hog torque converter and shifts excellent. The car is scary fast but very reliable and can be used as a daily driver or weekend cruiser. It’s never been raced and taken to the track yet.. Body & Interior: The car was completely sanded down to bare metal last year and had a nice two-stage metallic paintjob done. It has absolutely no rush or bondo spots anywhere. You can go through the entire car with a magnet and not find any body filler. Has all original sheet metal with perfect ¼” seems between doors, fenders, hood, and trunk. As you can see from the pics the car looks amazing and the paintjob is flawless. Always garaged. The interior was also redone earlier this year with custom two tone upholstery, door panels, new carpet, headliner, and weather-stripping. All the electrical is in excellent shape as well including headlights, sequential turn signals, wipers, custom stereo, dash cluster gauges, and all interior courtesy lights. Car has all original glass in great shape with new front and rear windshield weather-stripping. All the chrome trim has been polished and I also just had the bumpers triple chromed last month. Wheels & Suspension: Car has original style suspension but most of it has been rebuilt or replaced. Factory power front disc brakes with rear drum, car stops on a dime! Rebuilt factory power steering system works excellent. Brand new 18” Cragar chrome wheels. Car drives and handles great at all speeds with no squeaks or rattles. I turn heads and get compliments every time I take her out around town. This is a perfect car for someone looking to get a rare XR-7 sports couple Cougar and doesn’t wanna deal with the process of restoring it. It was built right and no expense spared. I have tons of invoices and paperwork for it. As all other classic cars it is being sold in “AS IS” condition with no warranty implied or expressed with this sale. Please ask questions if you are unsure of anything prior to bidding. The car is available for inspection by and serious bidder before the auction ends so feel free to give me a call at (714)234-9674 -Dave. This is a NO RESERVE auction and it will sell to the highest bidder. Please don’t ask me how much it will take to end the auction or if I will consider any trades. Clean and current CA title in hand ready to be transferred to the new owner. View my feedback and bid with confidence. Overseas bidders are welcome to bid and I can assist with the shipping process. I also know a few companies in my area that export to most countries. Be sure to check out the videos of this beauty in action! On Aug-19-10 at 15:08:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I made a mistake when I entered the vehicle's VIN number. The one I listed is off my old standard 67 Cougar. The correct VIN for this XR-7 Cougar is 7F93C645961, that is the VIN # on the Title and car. Just so you know all original XR-7 Cougars have a 93 on the third and fourth digits of the VIN, all standard Cougars have a 91. Sorry for the error. Thanks.. -Dave
