Vehicle Detail
Here is the one you've been waiting for! This is a REAL Y82 S/E Bandit Trans Am. This car was purchased by me from the original owner .I did a little work on it ,and it has been in dry storage for nearly ten years. The body of the car has NEVER had any rust, and is currently still wearing the 33 year old code 19 starlight black paint. The hood was replaced with one from a Y88 Gold S/E,and it has it's original paint as well! No bondo on this car.The floors are in great shape with only some surface rust, but very solid. The trunk floor is in great shape also, with only a quarter sized spot of rust through. The deck lid was replaced with a rust free one,as was the left rear quarter panel(only GM sheetmetal on this one!).The wheel spoilers are are all there, and are in great shape, including the lower front spoiler. The YJ8 gold snowflake wheels are correct for this car,and are in awesome condition, with no curb rash. They will polish up great. They have all four of the correct stainless wheel centers, which are all in great shape. All four tires are like new Yokahama radials. This car has the Hurst Hatch T-tops.I have the original build sheet for this car,as well as alot of paperwork since the car was new.The body is rust-free as previously stated, with only some small dents or dings to repair. The interior is in very good shape.I replaced the dash with the correct for '77 dash in original black color(no dye's here). The dash was nearly $400,and has no cracks at all.The seats were replaced with a near mint original set of black vinyl one's.The seat backs and the the rear plastics are all in mint condition, and all never dyed of course! I was restoring this car to keep it forever,so everything I did or bought had to be perfect or as close as could be.The Pontiac 400 engine is the original numbers matching,as is the 350 turbo trans. The engine area is unmolested as seen in the pics, and is all there. The original low-profile shaker is in great shape and is uncut and not altered. This car was sitting for a long time,so it will need to be trailered home.It will start and run,but needs to be freshened up as you'd expect a car that sat for as long as this one has.(no smoke or knocks etc.) I am only considering selling it now because I have not had a chance to do much with it lately, and don't forsee it in the near future. This is not by any means a sacrafice sale, and if I don't get the reasonable reserve price,I will simply just hang onto it .I invite anyone to come check out the car before bidding,as a winning bid is to purchase the car,not just come see it and chop the price.I have alot of NOS and like-new parts for this car,and they can be purchased separately by the winning bidder.I will in clude some NOS items if the Buy it Now feature is used. Please feel free to ask any and all questions and I'll get back to you asap. Thanks for looking at my auction and good luck bidding! On Aug-16-10 at 18:25:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added a few pics of the lower front fender, and rear quarter. You can see that there is zero rust, and it has it's original paint. The pics are representative of the other lower body areas, which also have zero rust. The underside of the car looks great as well, not rusty as this car came from out west, and has since been in a dry storage location .I have a pic of the original buildsheet, which is in remarkable condition. You will see that it shows it has a Y82 special appearance package.I have also added a pic of all the original manuals, and warranty info.,the original tag that hung off the directional for the cruise control, tire info. etc.I also had forgotten to mention that the car has the original 8 track player in the console.I have a perfect original black correct perforated vinyl headliner from a solid roof car that goes with it.I will add anything else that I think of.Please ask anything, and I'll answer as best I can.On Aug-21-10 at 14:47:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I checked both the engine block and transmission and they do infact have the matching serial numbers stamped into them. This car has huge potential to be a big dollar showpiece for the right buyer, don't miss your chance to own a piece of automobile history!
