Vehicle Detail
Here we have a 1946 Chevrolet Pick-up Street Rod that I'm selling for a good friend of mine. Very nice older restoration completed back in 1989. The body of the truck was a nice solid example with minimal body damage and rust. It was refinished in Deltron Medium Grey Poly/ Charcoal which was originally a Corvette color. It was a lacquer paint and was clear coated. It still looks great with nice gloss. The drivetrain was originally from a 1972 Chevrolet Impala and is a 350 cubic inch engine. The engine is completely stock with an addition of a factory Rochester 4 barrel carburator and late model GM HEI ignition system. The transmission is the same vintage Turbo Hydramatic 350 automatic with a shift kit installed. Front suspension is stock springs with spindles modified to take a stock GM power disc brake set-up. The rear axle is a stock 10 bolt GM from a 1974 Pontiac Ventura with matching drum brakes. The rear springs are stock originals. It has a dual master cylinder to control the brakes. Inside it has a redone interior in grey cloth and black naugahyde. Carpet and headliner are also redone in black. It has a stock GM tilt steering column. The owner hand made the walnut wood flat bed and it really looks great. The antique trunk is mounted to the bed for storage purposes. The tires are close to new Goodyear P20575R14 with ET 14X7 custom wheels. The truck starts, runs and drives just fine with all lights, gauges, etc in working condition. To really make the truck top notch, you'll probably want to update the steering as it is still the original 1946 set-up and would be much nicer with a newer power rack and pinion set-up. All in all, a great starter street rod for someone as all of the components including a super body are there. Truck is located in Southern Minnesota and is availible for inspection anytime during the auction. Reserve is below what it would cost just to paint the truck these days. Please contact me at miner@bevcomm.net or my cell at 507-525-2858 with any additional questions or concerns. Winning bidder will submit a 500.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction close with the balance to be paid upon delivery of the truck. New owner is responsible for pick-up or delivery of truck.
