Vehicle Detail

1953 5 Window Chevy 1/2 Ton Pick-up Great "OMG" Driver This dandy little driver my friends refer to as the " Oh My Gosh " truck, when I've lent it out to pick-up shavings, brush etc. Why? The 6cyl motor looks stock, but is an updated 270 gmc that has a pressurized oil system, tons of torque, and will go 50-55 mph with ease. Original " 3 on-the-tree that shifts very well, " It's just a blast to drive. This summer my mechanic friend and I tuned it up right. It had already been converted to 12volt, but we installed a new battery,New plugs and plug wires, new coil and adjusted the valves...very dependable and starts every time. All lights, turn signals gauges and brakes work as they should. Wiper motor does not and a parking brake cable needs to be replaced. Normal issues that you should know about for a 57 year old truck. Cab corners have holes in them and small rust holes ( about the size of a dime ) are in the lower left Drivers side fender and 2 in the drivers side running board. Bed floor has been replaced with a sheet of diamond plate long ago and there are holes in the front corners of the bed. ( easily repaired by just welding in a small piece of metal ). Floors and kick panels have no holes or visible rust, and have obviously been repaired, but are water tight and very solid. This is not a show truck...It is however a GREAT TRUCK FOR AROUND THE FARM AND LOCAL TRIPS...VERY DEPENDABLE VERY FUN! Missouri Title in my name I bought this truck in non-running condition, with flat tires, that had been sitting in a guys driveway for over 3 years. He was not mechanical at all. The city told him to title it or haul it off. He took a perfectly good clear title and because he couldn't get it running he could not get a Missouri State inspection...It came back salvage title. I bought it, and as stated above fixed it up, and got title in my name. I'm told if I repaired the cab corners, fixed the parking brake, and got the wipers working, it would be easy to apply for inspection and get the salvage designation removed. NOT important to me...Many states do not even require a inspection on a historic vehicle but Missouri does. I love this old truck for several reasons, It's the rare 5 window, It starts every time and runs strong, I don't have to worry about "scratching it" and they're rare to find one that's like this you can just enjoy! People always smile and wave when we go to the feed store or go for a drive. But...I need to help my kids with some expenses. so... GOOD LUCK! I'm pricing it right so someone can afford to enjoy it!
