1999 Grand AM GT with the HO 3.4 Liter V6. I am the second owner of this car and drove it 100 highway miles a day for years before giving it to my teen age daughter for school. It has has regular maintenance and the oil changed every 3 thousand miles. Doesn't smoke or use any oil but it does now have some mechanical issues which are the reason I am selling it. My daughter evidently has some depth perception problems because the front bumper cover/air dam, hood and both front fenders have parking lot damage. It has also completely lost compression in one of the cylinders which I suspect is from a stuck valve since at idle I am also hearing some tapping from that cylinder. The rest of the issues with the car are as follows: All of the electrics work but the drivers side window lift needs one of the plastic lift tabs reattached to the bottow of the window glass. The ac works well but the gas charge is low, no point in filling it since the engine will probably need dropped to make repairs. The fuel level sender unit doesn't work well after the tank is half empty so it's time to drop the tank and replace the pump/sender unit. Fuel pump still puts out factory spec fuel pressure. The car has a brand new ($400) set of Hankook tires and new brake pads. Also has a new set of spark plugs and intake manifold seals. The transmission was rebuilt at 130K miles with all updates and a new torque converter, still working well. With some work this car can again be a good daily driver for a student or part it out and make a few bucks. I don't have the time to work on it and the daughter needs to walk for a while so she can learn to pay attention.
