Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a great 1979 AMC Pacer D/L Wagon owned by an AMC enthusiast, it's tough but it's time to let it go. I have owned this car since the early 90's when I inherited from my grandmother who had purchased it new. I drove it for about 5 or 6 years through northern michigan winters, and has been sitting for the last 10 or so years covered/in the barn. It does start, and the engine still seems to run smoothly but it has not been driven or moved on it's own since it was stored (the transmission was in good shape when it was last driven, so there is no reason to believe it won't). It is being sold in "as is" condition for restoration or for parts but is complete and has not been parted out. I have the title in my name ready to be transferred to the buyer. The car has 76,027 miles, with the 258 (4.2L) 6 cylinder motor and automatic transmission. It has Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cruise Control, AM/FM Radio, Automatic Transmission and Air-Conditioning. The interior is black and is in very good condition with very little sun damage or wear on plastics or carpet. The head liner was replaced when I was driving the car. Dash pad is good, no cracks. Seats are good with no noticeable splits or tears...the front seats have nice seat covers and I believe there is some entry/exit wear on the drivers seat. The door panels are in great shape as well (they were removed from the doors to change out speakers but are fully intact and just need to be reinstalled). Rear speaker grilles were cut out to allow mounting of standard 6 1/2" round speakers, though they are not with the car. The exterior is actually in an OK condition but degrades as you get towards the bottom of the car. The paint is dull and rust is evident in lower quarter panels and rocker panels, some bondo repair work had been done that is showing it's age. The windshield is good, all side mouldings are included though some have been removed, All hubcaps are in good shape (even an extra of different color) as well as the optional chrome luggage rack option that it has standard. This Pacer would make a great restoration car...or could be used as a parts donor to a rust free wagon. I would love to see it go to an enthusiast who could restore it to original condition!
