Vehicle Detail

This car is being re-listed. Please read the "Terms of Sale" section below. I feel my terms are very reasonable; however, if you in any way don't agree with my terms, do not bid. If you have ANY questions, please email me. Up for auction is a 2000 Mazda Protégé LX. It was my daily driver for two years. We had done our best to keep the car in excellent running condition. Listed below are the items that we’ve replaced and the mileage on the car when the item was replaced. All of the items were replaced by a local repair shop, except the ERG valve and Idle Air Control Valve. I put those two parts on myself to save money. I’m very confident in my work – I have ample experience working on cars and other mechanical assemblies. The car runs great. It starts every time without hesitation. It has power windows. It has power locks, with a remote. It has cruise control. It has an automatic transmission. The transmission is very smooth. The air conditioning is ice cold, and the heat works great. It has a Kenwood radio / CD player, which works great. The car accelerates properly and handles nicely on city streets or at highway speeds. The interior is in nice shape. It doesn’t leak any fluids or burn oil. The check engine light is not on. The oil was changed at approximately 3000 mile intervals. It is very, very good on gas. We calculated it to get 38 miles per gallon on a trip to cleveland last fall. Click here for more pictures of the car. There are a few items that don’t work or should be noted: · The driver side rear door power lock does not work. The lock works if you manually lock / unlock it, but the power lock mechanism is broke. I just leave it locked since I rarely get in the back. · There is a small amount of rust located on the passenger side rear wheel well (see pics) · There is some noise coming from the passenger side rear tire. This noise started after the car sat for about a month. I suspect it’s the brake. The noise is minor and may go away after driving the car for a while. · The engine runs very smoothly, but the engine RPMs fluctuate a little at idle. It’s not bad at all, and the maintenance shop said it’s normal. I don’t think it’s normal so I’m mentioning it here. It doesn’t do it at all when driving, only when idle / at a stop. Again, it’s not bad. The car hasn’t ever stalled, but the engine RPMs fluctuate a little. · The front passenger side marker light has a small crack (see pics). Again, not bad, it’s always been that way since I got the car and hasn’t effected anything. · The car has been in two minor accidents, see the carfax reports. You’d never know it by looking at or driving the car. The frame is straight and car handles like it should. Work Completed, with mileage it was performed at (I have all receipts): New Rear Brake Shoes (95,705 miles) Spark Plugs Replaced (102,588 miles) Transmission Fluid Flushed / Replaced (102,588 miles) Coolant Flushed / Replaced (102,588 miles) New Water Pump (102,588 miles) New Oxygen Sensor (upstream of cat, 102,588 miles) New Battery (102,588 miles) New Timing Belt (102,588 miles) New Accessory Belts (102,588 miles) New Front Brakes Pads and Rotors (108,781 miles) Four New Firestone 70,000 Mile Tires (113,264 miles) · Affinity Touring BL P185/65R14 85T 70,000 Tire Alignment (113,264 miles) New Oxygen Sensor (downstream of cat, 116,677 miles) New Alternator (116,677 miles) New Mass Air Flow Sensor (116,677 miles) Work I have completed, with approximate milage: New EGR Valve (approximately 117,000 miles) New Idle Air Control Valve (approximately 117,000 miles) Terms of Sale: PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF SALE CAREFULLY. DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE EMAIL ME PRIOR TO BIDDING. Winner must pick up the car at my location (Cincinnati, Ohio: zip code 45231).
