Vehicle Detail
This 3/4 ton truck belonged to my mother and stepfather. They purchased it in 1988 and had it set up to tow a 28' 5th wheel trailer from NH to FL. They stopped towing in 1992, but still travelled back and forth until about 2000. After that they stayed mostly in the town of Zephyhills, FL. My stepfather passed away in Feb. of 2004 and my mom passed in April of last year at the age of 82 . This truck was repainted once, and has it's share of small dents, dings, and scratches. But the body is solid and the only rust-through spot I can find is on the lower drivers door corner. They used to have those big side mirrors mounted on the doors, and after removal I believe water may have gotten down in there. The engine was replaced in Feb. 1998 with a brand new crate GM 350 target motor. At that time, the truck had 131,574 miles. My mom rarely got above 40 mph, but I recently drove on the highway at 60 -65 mph with no problem. It has an exhaust leak in the front, and the radio makes a hiss but I can't get it to play. The truck has 2 batteries (replaced last year) but currently only one is hooked up. It also has 2 gas tanks. The rear end is a 4.10, the tranny is a Turbo 400, the wheels are 16x6.5, and the front has disc brakes, There are also Hellwig helper springs in back. There is a little step that opens out with the doors. There is an electric lift in the back (I don't know if it works) for lifting a handicap scooter. There is a thick rubber mat in the bed and the floor underneath is in great shape (almost like new). The interior is all original. The truck starts right up and runs good. I had the A/C fixed (8-3). The transmission was serviced yesterday (8-3). I then took it to Jiffy Lube for an oil/filter/lube upgrade service with oil cleaner. I have the original owners manuals and a stack of receipts from the past 23 years. There is a factory equipment label taped inside the glove box. It will make someone a great work truck, or great for towing a trailer, etc. There is an electric controller for trailer brakes, but I have no idea as to it's condition. The topper over the bed is a Leer, and there is a sliding window in the front as well as one on the cab itself. I am selling the truck as I already have 3 vehicles, and don't need it. I have a clear title in my name, and the truck is licensed and insured. You are welcome to come see the truck for yourself.
