1958 Apache Project Truck For sale is a 1958 Cheverolet half-ton ,short wheelbase,stepside truck. I have owned this truck for about five years. I took this truck in trade from a friend who used it as his daily driver for many years. Sad to say I have had it sitting on the side of my shop and never got around to doing anything with it. This truck is an excellent canidate for a cheap low buck truck to hop in and have so fun. The good about the truck. It has a smooth running 235 6-cylinder with a newer style synchronized transmission. The rear-end is a 12-bolt with highway gears out a 60's era truck. The gas tank is located under the bed and not in the cab. The suspension has been lowered for a nice stance. It sits on steel wheels painted laser red with red roth flake in the clear that look pretty sweet out in the sun.I have a really clean benchseat out of a newer dodge truck with built in seats and fold-up center console that goes with the sale.The truck does have a clear Texas title that is open I never transferred into my name. The body is fairly rust free with really good floors the only rust in the floors is shown in the pictures. The cab corners are good the minor rust. The major rust is a common spot above the windshield. I had intentions of cutting the roof off and making a nice looking roadster truck out of it and making a custom carson top out of tubing covered with wire mess and then cover it in vinyl. Never enough time except to dream. There is still plenty of potential for this little truck. No reason to dump alot of cash on something to start out with when you can buy this truck cheap and still have fun. The Bad I robbed the master-cylinder a few years back for my truck. The brakes will need to be gone through. The wood floor in the bed is still intack but has a few bad spots. I would buy a piece of 3/4 plywood and lay it on top and roll with it. The rust above the with have to be repaired for a winshield to properly seal. I do have a good used wind-shield that goes with the truck. The tires are a little weather cracked but hold air. Like I said it is a project but with some minor work and a little patience would make a nice low-buck cruiser. If you have any further questions please asks.
