Up for sale is a rust free, original and unmolested matching numbers 1974 Porsche 911s Targa coupe featuring it's original 2.7 liter motor and 915 gearbox. The previous owner said the motor was rebuilt a couple of years ago with many upgrades, including the 11 blade fan. The car starts and runs very nicely. There is no smoking, oil burning or backfiring. The motor is clean and dry with little to no leaks. The clutch and pressure plate are in excellent condition, valves are quiet, and the motor is powerfull, smooth and consistent at all RPMs. The shocks, struts and bushings are in good condition and the car feels stable, even at very high speeds. The rear torsion area is in perfect condition and shows no signs of accidents, rust, or previous bodywork. The alignment is perfect with no pulling to either side in acceleration, cruising or braking. The front brakes have 90% left on the pads and the rear brakes have 50% left on the pads. I installed four brand new 195/60/15 matching tires. The boot, floors and pans show no signs of replacement as this car looks all original with no history of rust. The undercoating is also all original and looks to have never been resprayed. The body is clean and shows no major dents or dings. It was painted some time back and the previous owner chose to have all of the exterior rubber trim on the bumpers and rocker panels painted to match the car. They removed the door handles, lights, emblems and grill prior to paint. The door jambs, and the underside of the boot and decklid were painted as well. The targa band, targa and window seals, and all chrome trim was either removed or taped off as there is no overspray on those areas. There is also no overspray in the wheel wells and undercarriage. The car is a perfect entry level 911 because there are no mechanical issues and the car can be enjoyed immediately with no work. The paint and interior are in fairly good condition and were photographed honestly in direct sunlight. You can click on any picture to get an even larger view. The targa top is in great shape and needs nothing. There are some little things that the new owner can fix as they go along as time and budget permit. In any case, the starting bid is set well below the going market rate for these cars, even in poorer condition. I am also offering a nice incentive to bid early: If the car has bids 24 hours before the listing ends, I will perform a complimentary minor tune-up before the new owner takes possession which will consist of an oil and filter change, new spark plugs and a new fuel filter. If you are in a state that mandates emissions inspections, this car should be of particlar interest to you because 1975 was the final year for smog exemption, which means that you never have to worry about a smog test. It's a strong specimen and I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. A $1000 deposit via PayPal will be due immediately at auction close. If you placed your bid in advance and are not near a computer when the listing ends, then I will offer a 12 hour grace period for you to submit that deposit before moving on to the next highest bidders and leaving the appropriate feedback.
