Vehicle Detail

Relisting this 1986 Nissan 300zx Turbo due to non-paying bidder, so everyone gets another chance. This is a fine example of a straight, rust-free, unmolested, well cared for 300zx Turbo from the southwest. I purchased it in 2003 from a soldier in New Mexico before he shipped out. Originally intended for my son, I came to my senses and bought him a Honda. The Z needed a heater core, so it was not driveable and I stored it in my shop (which is heated). When I finally got the heater core replaced with a new one (a year later), I went to have it inspected (since it was an out-of-state title) only to discover I could not locate my title anywhere. I kept trying to get in contact with the seller in New Mexico, but he was stationed overseas, so I stored the car in my shop, and occassionally started it and fixed a few things. Well, I finally got in touch with the former owner and now have a Clear Nebraska Title. Unfortunately, it has been seven years, and I have other projects to work on, so the Turbo-Z is up for sale. I replaced the brakes and rotors (this car does have ABS), rear shocks, front struts, belts and hoses, and fuel injectors (there was a recall on the original ones). Plug wires are good. It could use new plugs, but still starts right up. The tires are new, and the Z drives straight with crisp, firm suspension and steering. On the outside, you will find the Turbo Z body moulding in tact, along with all four factory mudflaps with no cracks. The four turbo rims are original along with all four turbo trim caps. The rims could stand a buffing but are in good shape. As I said, this is a rust-free car and it shows. Now, I know people say rust-free, but this one is, the quarters and rockers are solid and original with no patches or repairs. The spare tire is original, as are the covers for the T-Tops, which are in excellent shape (soft and without cracks). The T-Tops lock in solid without wind noise or leaks. The T-Tops, door windows, side windows and hatch are all tinted. The flip-up headlights work also, as do the power windows. Paint is shiny without any weathering. Inside, the drivers door panel is in need of repair or replacing (at least the center panel). I look on Ebay for one every so often, but haven't seen a blue one (haven't looked hard though). The passenger door panel is perfect. The leather power seats work, but could use recovering. Note these are original leather Turbo seats and have the Turbo emblem stiched onto the backs. The cargo shelf is sun-faded a bit, but is intact. The car originally had a dash pad, so the dash is intact and without cracks, but the sticky squares that held the dash pad on still need to be removed. The digital dash stopped working and was replaced by the previous owner. The replacement dash showed about 12000 miles less, which is what AutoCheck is listing as a "major title issue", just read the details in the report about the mileage discrepancy. The odometer currently shows 144445, I added 12000 on the listing to be accurate. I took a picture of the digital dash while driving so you can see it works and the engine has decent oil pressure. The digital dash was a factory option on this car, as was the climate control (works), console controls for the remote mirrors (works), and am/fm/cassette with graphic equalizer (works). Although the climate control works, the AC system doesnt hold a charge for long. The compressor went out and was replaced and is in good working order, but the system needs a leak check. This Turbo-Z also has the optional steering wheel controls (which work perfectly) on its original leather-wrapped steering wheel. I have tried to describe the vehicle as best I can. If you have any questions or would like a specific picture I did not provide, please ask. This car is in excellent shape and is a good investment. It turns 25 next year, making it a true classic, and is fun as is, but could be perfect with just a few cosmetic touches. It's ready to drive across town, or across the country. On Jul-31-10 at 21:08:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Description Correction: I was informed the 1986 300ZX did not come with ABS. Thanks to ebay member carlistro for pointing this out.
