Vehicle Detail
**NO RESERVE NO RESERVE** This Bad Boy has been proportioned with Gangster Styled "In-Your-Face", Agressive Lines. In order to give you a handle on the painstaking hours of cautious planning & cutting. Notice the lowered heigth of the windshield and the door windows. This has all been re-proportioned in the body now awaiting your finishing touch. For comparison's sake: I have borrowed and enclosed a picture of a gorgeous outstandingly restored Red, Stock 1938 Dodge Pickup, but please understand, the red pickup pictured IS NOT MINE!! This vehicle was recently listed on Ebay. Therefore, there is before you, a classic & true representation of the era of the 30's. Again, this is for comparison purposes only! Here is what you are getting... * Doors have been fashioned for keyless entry for a "no-hardware" look! Here's breakdown of cost: * One electric power window set........................................................($350.00) * 1 remote key chain FOB....................................................................($160.00) * 1 set of power window switches......................................................($140.00) * 1 mini latch for a hidden battery door................................................($17.00) * 1 set of hidden hinges........................................................................($299.95) * 1 pair of small door latches..................................................................($45.00) * 1 jumper kit in case of battery failures (fail safe entry)....................($49.95) * 1 solenoid...............................................................................................($35.00) * 1 38' Dodge Cab................................................................................($2,500.00) * 1 front clip (nose & hood)................................................................($1,000.00) * 2 front fenders.....................................................................................($850.00) * 2 rear fenders......................................................................................($650.00) * 2 running boards.................................................................................($425.00) * 2 contemporary head lamps (1 pictured in photo)..........................($125.25) * 1 pair of Parking lights (not pictured)................................................($125.25) * Labor for chopping, sectioning (re-proportioning).......................($4,748.00) TOTAL INVESTED....................................($11,520.40) PLEASE NOTE: When you are browsing through the pictures, do not make the mistake of thinking you have spotted patches of rust. A number of these older models had an enormous amount of iron used in the medal making process. This is NOT rust!! You are looking at iron deposits. However, there is a small amount of medal work which needs to be addressed at the lower portion of the cab (shown in the last picture displaying the rear of the cab). It is VERY minor. Aside from this, the floor of the cab needs to be replaced. The cab as well as the fenders, etc. are as strong as Old Iron Sides. If you want the Avante-Garde forward leaning lines of a true "Resto-Mod", this one is for you. Before you is a "Vanguard" in creative re-styling. This cut and re-weld molding process leaves no room for trial & error. You don't get a second chance to do it "just right" the first time. I would not want to repeat this process and hold my breath that long!! You are looking at a six-inch chop and a shrinking of the: windshield, door windows as well as the rear window. The doors have then had to be re-sized in order to make all of the lines blend into proportions which are pleasing to the eye. This was done without the aid of a computer. The sheer effort put into this process resembled the skillful intuitive work and old-fashioned (long forgotten) tailor would employ to make an executive look good in a three thousand dollar suit. Especially note how the original bulbous and totally vertical nature of the nose has been compacted and re-sculptured so it leans in harmony with the slope of the newly fashioned windshield. The driver is meant to now look tucked away in an Indy styled aggressiveness unknown in the 30's, 40's, 50's and even the 60's. This is yersterday's machine of "tomorrow"!! ONE INTERESTING POINT FROM HISTORY... The Great Depression followed on the heels of World War 1 and stretched to the end of the 1930's. 1938 was a disastrous year for Dodge and the trucks sold for around $600.00. This was also the end of the era of the Dodge Brothers and their influence. Chrysler purchased the company and the deck was being re-shuffled and changes were in the air. Therefore, today the truck is joining the ranks of the "gone-by" rare things in life. *This auction is only for the 38" Dodge Cab, front clip, front fenders, rear fenders, running boards and all of the accessories listed above under "here is what you are getting". It does not incluce a bed, nor the chassis, engine, transmission, wheels/tires. The photos do however, display all of these other items which I have listed for sale separately on ebay. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this listing or the other items.* NOTE: Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick-up fees. If you are interested in shipping, I will be happy to research shipping charges for you. The merchandise will be released once the buyer's payment has been cleared through seller's bank.
