Up for auction is a 2002 Toyota Camry 2.4L LE edition. This vehicle is currently registered in California with all DMV fees paid up to date. The winning bidder will be provided a California smog certificate. This vehicle has been family owned since being purchased at the dealership in 2001. I acquired this vehicle from my father-in-law (the original owner) in December of 2009. I have provided information about this 2002 Toyota Camry LE below and have described it to the best of my knowledge. I'm by no means a mechanic and strongly encourage interested buyers to personally inspect this Camry prior to bidding. This vehicle is located in Rosamond, CA approximately 80 miles north of Los Angeles, CA. ENGINE: This Camry's 2.4L engine is the original factory motor with a little under 261,200 miles. The motor oil used in this Camry is AMSOIL 5W-30 Synthetic oil. Turn the key and this Camry starts right up and runs strong! There are no known problems with this motor nor have I had any issues with this engine to date. TRANSMISSION: This Camry is equipped with an automatic transmission. When I acquired this Camry from my father-in-law the transmission would not shift into reverse, 3rd, 4th or 5th gear. Thus, I had AAMCO recondition the transmission at 257,203 miles. This Camry carries a 12 MONTH/12,000 mile limited warranty on the reconditioned transmission by AAMCO. This warranty covers the customer listed on the repair order (myself) and any subsequent owner of this vehicle. I was also notified by AAMCO that the PCM or "ECM" needed to be replaced so a used computer was installed. I honestly think the Camry shifts a little hard around 20mph and on inclines so I brought it to the Saugus, CA AAMCO on 7/15/10. This was their diagnosis, "THE EXTERNAL DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED THAT THE TRANMISSION FLUID LEVEL IS OK AND THE CONDITION IS NORMAL. THIS CAR AND TRAMISSION WORK VERY WELL WE FOUND NO SYMPTOMS OR PROBLEMS OR CODES A COMPUTER SCAN REVEALED THE FOLLOWING CODES: NO CODES. THE FOLLOWING SERVICE(S) IS RECOMMENDED: NO TRANMISSION PROBLEM". I was told that the transmission is functioning normal as it should. BODY: This Camry's body is in pretty good condition for its age. It has some dings here and there but nothing extreme. If you look at the drivers side rear door you can see that the black door strip (I believe it's a door bumper?) is coming off towards the top. I'm sure this can be repaired with an adhesive of some kind. Also, there are two dents on the lower end of the front bumper, it appears they were possibly caused by a floor jack that was placed in the front of the vehicle; this is also visible in the pictures. INTERIOR: The interior has some stains on the floor that I would describe as normal for its age. Overall the interior is in good shape, no rips or tears in the seats. The driver side seat is powered which is a nice feature. The trim around the radio has a crack in it that was caused by myself when removing it to install an aftermarket Sirius radio. I purchased a replacement trim but it was a grayish color instead of tan so I never installed it. This damage is also shown in the pictures. Currently, the Camry has the factory radio installed which operates fine. BRAKES: I replaced the brakes around 257,000 miles so they should be good for awhile. This Camry brakes fine and has no known issues with the braking system.
