Vehicle Detail
(I'm selling this because I want to buy a motorcycle) The 1955-1956 Packard Four Hundred was the new two-door hardtop derivative of the Patrician sedan, built on the longer of Packard's two wheelbases in these years. A pillarless roof and more frequent use of two-toning gave it a sportier look. Otherwise, the Four Hundred was identical to the four-door sedan. Pluses of the 1955-1956 Packard Four Hundred: High on the want list of post-war Packard fanciers Satisfying road car Low-production appeal High-yield investment Milestone car status Production of the 1956 Packard Four Hundred: 1956: 3,224 Specifications of the 1955-1956 Packard Four Hundred: Wheelbase, inches: 127.0 Length, inches: 217.8 Weight, pounds: 4,080-4,250 ohv V-8 374 cid 290 horsepower 1956 I've had this Packard for about 7 years and have only driven it approx. 4500 miles on a full engine rebuild. Had it blue printed and balanced even! Full engine rebuild cost me about $7500 NO OIL LEAKS on Engine. This is thee biggest selling point on this car. The whole interior was gutted and I put the waterproof truck bed liner sealer and new carpets.... Had a special radiator built for it that cost me $600 but retained the original top and bottom. Push Button shift system. HEADLINER: would be in near mint condition if it wasn't for the two small cigarette burns. I had the exhaust system completly rebuilt and installed flame throwers on it ($500) Interior and floor boards have been redone and it has white tuck n roll interior with red and black accents in which I spent $2500 getting redone Also has brand new carpet kit from Kanter Auto (you can get any part for this car there) also new body bushings. Also rebuilt the generator(self) and push button actuator ($400). It has the original wonderbar radio but have a power amp installed in the trunk that I use to connect my Ipod to. Has the original push button gear selection. There are a couple of things that need attention. It is missing the drivers side power window motor, speedometer does not work, Power steering needs some attention as it doesn't work. rear decklid needs alignment. Body is pretty clean except for a couple of cracks on it (see photo). Tires (brand new) are not real white walls, they are the glanko painted ones (yellowed and cracked). Power seat does not work. I tapped into the load leveling suspension and at a flick of the switch you can lower it. Wiring needs to be cleaned up, and last the trunk needs carpet and some repair... oh and depending on what your into needs paint Included is the after market swap cooler. Transmission is ok and I have an extra one but may need some attention in the future as it leaks. I have receipts totaling over $5000 some of which are from rebuild parts. But I'm missing a lot of receipts. I've actually spent over $12,000 on this car. Vehicle has year of manufacture plates I have driven this car from Fresno to San Francisco on several occasions without any problems at all. It is a round trip of 360 mileslast but not least it is SOLD AS IS. FOR YOU SCAMMERS... I WILL NOT TAKE MORE THAN WHAT THE FINAL SELLING IS... for exp.. Final is 5000 you say you'll give me 10,000 and to give you the rest back... Go bother someone else... I can help arrange shipping for Domestic or International bidders. On Jul-20-10 at 13:47:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Just some final things to add: for shipping international I found these company's. It's YOUR responsibility. http://www.royalautotransportinc.com/index.php http://www.shipoverseas.com/international_shipping_services http://www.shipandfly.com/trailers.html http://www.carexshipping.com/international-auto-shipping.html ---------------------------- A lot of people are asking questions about it. It's a 64 year old car and it has not been frame off restored but has had a whole lot of work done to it. It has your normal wear and yes it will need some TLC. I think the description and pictures antiquity describe it. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions just ask.
