Vehicle Detail
Hello. This auction is for a 1998 Dodge Stratus. I purchased the vehicle in June 2009 with 127,214 miles on it, and as you can see only drove it about 250 miles. This is because I was given another car by my parents that was in better shape and so I didn't really have to use it. Over the last year it's just sat in my driveway taking up space and it is now time for it to go. The car has a 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder engine. The EPA estimate is 23 city/33 highway/27 combined. The tan interior is very nice and very clean. It passed New Hampshire inspection, good through 12/09, but I never got it inspected in Massachusetts because, as I mentioned, I never really had the need to since I got another car shortly after I got this one. The car starts and runs just fine but there are a couple of problems with it: The tie rod for the front right wheel is broken. I purchased this part but never got around to adding it on. As you can see in one of the pictures, the front right hub-cap is missing. I do have the hub-cap, it's in the trunk. If you decide to bid on this car, and you win the auction, the tie rod will be included. I'll also throw in the Haynes repair manual for the car. At some point during the winter, a coolant leak developed. Therefore, the winner of the auction must tow the car away, as I do not believe it is safe to drive without coolant for more than about a mile.As you can see, there is some extremely minor front-end damage to the car (scratched up paint, and front bumper not perfectly straight). This is how it was purchased from the prior owner. I do have a Massachusetts title, which is clean. The air conditioning does not work. It has not worked since I purchased the car. I don't really have any mechanical knowledge, so I have no idea why. Other things may have cropped up during the last year, but as I said it still starts up and runs just fine.A handyman should be able to take care of most of these (air conditioning...maybe tougher) no problem. Please note that this car is being sold AS IS, with no warranties express or implied.
