Hello - You are bidding on a 1961 Corvair 700 Club Coupe. I am the second owner of this Hugger Orange coupe. The car looks great and runs very good. I can tell that it has had body work done in the past, but looks very good (no dings, scratches or any obvious cosmetic rust). I don't know if the interior is original or not, but the black buckets and rear seat look great (no tears or rips, etc). The horn, windshield wipers, turn signals, lights (directionals, low and high beam), windows, visors, newer AM/FM radio, dome light ALL WORK. The speedometer/odometer do NOT work - so I don't know how many actual miles are on the car. I purchased this car last summer. I believe it is the basic (not very fast) 80 hp engine. I am not very mechanically inclined, but with the help of a mechanic friend I have replaced the push rod tube O-rings with new Viton rings. I have also replaced the transmission modulator valve, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, oil/filter, battery, fan belt, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires/cap and rebuilt the carburetors. The car has been babied since I owned it; garage kept, only taken on short, sunny, Sunday drives, etc. I've never had it on the expressway, so I don't truly know (with confidence) how it would perform. Extras included: new special order chrome spare wheel & tire, new fan belt, Hugger Orange touch up paint, 5 push rod tubes, 1961 Owners Guide, 1961 Shop Manual, original radio, extra set of rear lens covers (car currently has blue dot rear lenses not shown in photos).
