Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a beautiful example of a classic car, the Porsche 924 S. The car only has 96,123 miles (only 4k a year). The car runs and drives with no trans issues. The trans is strong. The car is equipped with a rare automatic transmission. Most of these cars were produced with manual trans. The car is Guards Red with black interior. The car is completely stock besides the stereo system which was replaced. The dash doesn't have ANY CRACKS at all whatsoever. This is very rare for this model. The car has had the following fixed or replaced recently: -New tires-New flex cat. converter-New headlights-All new bulbs-New brake lines-Alpine cda headunit with ipod cable-All speakers replaced with aftermarket 85 rms rated speakers-Just passed inspection this month Only 6,900 porsche 924 S's were ever produced. An estimated 40% of these vehicles remain in running condition today. Only appr. 35% were made with automatic trans. about 1/6 of the 924 S's were in Guards Red. This makes this particular Porsche 924 S very rare. I've never seen another on the road. After I bought the car I brought it to a certified Porsche dealership, Precision Porsche, and said "give me a list of everything that's wrong with the car." About 7 hours of charged labor and $1,000.00 later, I received my list. I then took that list and fixed all that I could on my budget. I haven't got to the following and cannot afford to put any more money into the car. Therefore, the car needs the following: -Horn works half the time-Odometer hasn't worked in two weeks (records support that)-Oil light goes on every now and then but car just had an oil change. I was told by Precision Porsche that it is an oil pressure problem. Relatively cheap fix. The car starts every time but because of this requires some Ether every now and then (starting fluid into the air filter).-There is a tear in the drivers side leather seat from wear over time-The paint is fading in some spots-Previous owner tried to paint the detachable roof and did an amateur job-Minor bumper damage from previous owner backing up into a parking lot light Accident was minor and cosmetic, therefore the title is still clear. No rust, no frame damage, nothing major, just cosmetic. The additional stereo box in the trunk consists of 4 Rockford Fosgate punch 85 rms speakers and a 700 watt sony xplod amp. It was installed professionally and makes the stereo system in the car one of the loudest and clearest systems i've ever heard. The box is not included in the auction and will be removed professionally prior to pickup unless the winning bidder would like to work something out. Just let me know. Again, The head unit and the 4 aftermarket speakers are included in the auction, only the box in the trunk is not included. Overall the car is in great shape for its age. I get 25-30 mpg around town and the Porsche is very reliable. The engine is strong and i've hit 135 mph on Millville racetrack in this 924 S. The car has never been beat on or raced (I was the only car on the track and only brought it once). With 500-1000 dollars the car could be perfect. I'm only selling it because i'm looking to purchase my first new car. This is a great first car for any teen or a great car for any Porsche enthusiast or daily driver. I have the car listed locally so I have the right to end this auction at any point. I have 100% feedback so bid with confidence. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me through ebay or call anytime at 609-457-9639, my name is Chris. Good luck and happy bidding!
