UP FOR SALE IS AN A CLASSIC 1976 FORD BRONCO. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL BRONCO. THREE SPEED MANUAL "THREE ON THE TREE" THIS PARTICULAR BRONCO HAS HAD A RECENT RESTORATION. MY UNDERSTANDING FROM THE P/O ((PREVIOUS OWNER) IS THIS CAR SAT IN A BARN IN ARKANSAS FOR MANY YEARS UNTIL THE PO BOUGHT IT. HE THEN STRIPPED IT DOWN TO BARE METAL, REPAIRED A FEW SMALL DENTS, PRIMED IT AND PAINTED IT A UNIQUE CANDY APPLE RED/ORANGE. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL COLOR AND LOOKS GREAT IN THE SUNLIGHT. THE P/O HAS RESTORED THIS BRONCO OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS AND DRIVEN IT VERY LITTLE OTHERWISE IT WAS IN DRY STORAGE AS PART OF THE RESTORATION THE INTERIOR WAS STRIPPED DOWN AND A RHINO LINING WAS APPLIED TO EVERTHING INCLUDING THE ROLL CAGE. ONE REALLY NICE TOUCH IS THE STURDY ROLL CAGE HAS 3 POINT SEAT BELTS INSTALLED, WHICH IS A NICE SAFETY FEATURE. ALSO A CARBEAU REAR SEAT WITH SEAT BELTS WAS INSTALLED AS WELL. AN ORIGINAL BRONCO REAR SPARE WHEEL WAS INSTALLED. AS SOME OF YOU ARE AWARE THOSE BRACKETS ARE KEY RUST POINTS, BUT NOTE THAT THESE WERE INSTALLED NEW AS PART OF THE RESTORATION SO THEY ARE PERFECT. WHEN THE RHINO LINING WAS PUT ON THE INSTALLERS REMOVED THE DOORS AND THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE WORKED ON THESE DOORS KNOW WHAT A PAIN THEY ARE TO LINE BACK UP JUST RIGHT. BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LINE THEM UP RIGHT THE DOOR JAM HAS A FEW SCRATCHES ON IT. I TRIED TO SHOW THAT IN THE PICS. THIS CAR HAS ALSO HAD ALL THE BRAKES RE-DONE AS WELL AS A HEAVY DUTY HOWE ALUMINUM RADIATOR INSTALLED. THE ONE KEY ITEM THAT NO HISTORY IS KNOWN IS THE ENGINE. THE SPEEDO READS 50K, BUT NO IDEA IF THAT IS ACCURATE OR NOT. THE ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN RE-BUILT TO MY KNOWLEDGE. THE P/O DIDN'T FEEL THAT IT WAS NECESSARY SINCE THE ENGINE FIRES RIGHT UP AND THE 302 V8 RUNS GREAT. STARTS EVERYTIME WITH A FRESH BATTERY AND STARTER SOLENOID INSTALLED. IT DOES NOT LEAK OR BURN OIL. IT DOES DRIP A LITTLE FROM THE TRANSFER CASE. TIRES ARE ALL IN NICE SHAPE. THE TRUCK RUNS GREAT, SOUNDS GREAT, AND IS VERY FUN FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THIS TRUCK ISN'T PERFECT, BUT IT REALLY NEEDS NOTHING. THEIR ARE SOME MINOR DETAIL ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE FINISHED TO REALLY MAKE THIS RESTORATION COMPLETE. THERE ARE SOME WIRES THAT SHOULD BE BUTTONED UP AND TUCKED AWAY. THE CAR WAS NEVER BUFFED OUT AFTER THE PAINT JOB SO THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. THE SPEEDO JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE SO IT NEEDS A NEW CABLE. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE EARLY BRONCOS CAME WITH TWO GAS TANKS, A BIGGER ONE AND A SMALLER ONE AND THERE IS A SWITCH ON THE DASH TO FLIP BETWEEN THE TWO. THIS TRUCK HAD BOTH TANKS REMOVED, BUT THE LARGER ONE WASN'T IN VERY GOOD SHAPE SO IT WAS NEVER PUT BACK ON. THE SMALLER ONE WAS CLEANED OUT AND PUT BACK ON. SO THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS THE SMALLER TANK. A QUICK SEARCH ON EBAY AND I FOUND A 13 GALLON REAR FUEL TANK FOR $155. ALSO THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE NOT INSTALLED, BUT THE MECHANISM WORKS WHEN YOU PULL THE WIPER SWITCH SO JUST A MATTER OF INSTALLING WIPERS. ONE LAST THING THAT I JUST DISCOVERED THIS WEEK WHILE DRIVING THE BRONCO IS THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW IS CRACKED. I'D NEVER NOTICED IT BEFORE BECAUSE I'D NEVER PUT THE WINDOW UP. ALSO INCLUDED AND SEEN IN THE PICTURES IS A BIKINI TOP WHICH FITS WELL AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE. OTHERWISE THIS TRUCK IS GOOD TO GO. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING!! HERE'S A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE EARLY BRONCOS: The Ford Bronco sat atop a small 92 inch wheelbase which made it suitable for off-road excursions. Its body, frame and suspension were all new and did not share with any other vehicles. The brakes and axles were courtesy of the Ford F-100 trucks. The rear suspension had leaf springs in a Hotchkiss design. Coil springs were used which gave the Bronco an anti-dive geometry which came in handy during snowplowing. The front axle was connected by leading arms and a lateral track bar. A heavy duty suspension was available, but at an additional cost. The design was simple with flat glass, no-frills bumpers, and a square body. The $2194 base price included front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. An auxiliary gas tank, snowplow, winch, tow bar, posthole digger, campers, overdrive units, and an array of tires and wheels were also available. For model-year 1974 production was 18,786. Subsequent years would see further declines. Then, too, there was very few things that were new with this years Bronco. The automatic transmission quadrant was now lighted, the six and optional 4.11 final-drive gear were no longer available in California, where emissions standards were stringent, the J-shifter was the only setup, even with the manual transmission.
