This is a 1996 Ford Escort 4 door Sedan that I have had for six years. To begin with, this car DOES NOT RUN. I last drove it about 2 months ago and it ran great I took it about 100 miles and it ran smooth as it always did. However, since then the car will not start. The battery in it is dead; however, when the battery was hooked up it would keep trying to turn over but just would not fire. This car has been a great car. The first owner was a mailman who put 176,000 miles on it driving back and forth to work which was around 90-100 miles a day of highway miles. Since then I have driven it all over the country and it has always given me 35-36 mpg. I hate to sell the car especially since my late father purchased it for me, but with just starting a new job and having received a new car a few years ago for a college graduation present I have little reason to fix it to let it sit in my driveway. The car has a new motor in it that has roughly 60,000 miles on it and many other new parts. The interior is great and since we have owned it we have changed the oil religiously every 3,500 miles with Motorcraft Oil and Oil filters. My hope is that someone either has an escort which they can use the car as parts or that they have access to a mechanic that could assist them in fixing a very fuel efficient and economically smart car.
